I remember throwing this project together when I met @michaelthefine at the tail end of 2020, into January 2021. He put an ad for more members on Facebook and a guy he went to school with named @pettyseabass hit him up and we immediately clicked with him. We also had a drummer and bassist join right away so we were all set to embark on this thing quickly but then our drummer had to step down and then we learned how difficult it is to find a drummer in Des Moines, Iowa…. Seemed like everyone was either already jamming with someone else or could play and wanted to try out but didn’t have a kit (yes, this happened multiple times 😑).

It got to a point to where we weren’t sure if there was a path forward but in 2023, Sebastian was getting good at programming drums so we decided to try it one more time. We recorded a rough ass demo of Transcending Madness to give people an idea of what we were working on that wasn’t a shitty phone recording. Posted that to socials and said, “hey, this is what we’re working on. Come help us bring this thing to life!”

Well it worked out because we quickly were able to recruit @lucas.brown35 , formerly of @heirofsorrow on drums and then @infernal_dan came in shortly afterwards on bass and since then, we’ve been at it nonstop.

@infernalinstinct has recorded three singles (fourth coming up soon), played tons of shows, awarded “Number 1 Song of 2025” by @metalinstituteofthrashology , played with multiple national acts such as @thewordalive , @therealbrokencyde and @tx2official , went on tour, and now playing @woolysdm for the second time in less than a year with 2000’s legends @nonpointband and Sebastian’s other band @savingsidonband !!

Sorry, I tend to ramble a lot… I know. 😭🤷🏼‍♂️ But moral of the story here is if you want something enough or feel confident enough in your art, don’t give up. Shit gets hard sometimes and it’s easy to walk away from these things but if you’re persistent, it’ll pay off in the long run. 🤘🏻

P.S. as a late birthday present for me , ya’ll should buy our remaining discounted tickets and come throw down with us next week 😉🫶🏻
