We are excited to be back in the studio creating our new work Handle With Care ahead of its first public performance in November!

Handle With Care is a new work in development centred around the concept of fragility - a temporary state of emotional delicacy where small demands feel too heavy to absorb.

More details to follow on where you can catch it later this year ✨

Thank you to @passdance for the support with rehearsal space 💜

Produced by @dancehorizonsuk ✨

“Ne'er ask me what raiment I'll wear, for I have no more doublets than backs, no more stockings than legs, nor no more shoes than feet--nay, sometime more feet than shoes, or such shoes as my toes look through the overleather.”

The first years on the other hand, have many doublets to speak of, and just as many shoes as feet! Please enjoy these images of our first year costume students’ interpretations of 17th century doublets.

“With silken coats, and caps, and golden rings,/ with ruffs, and cuffs, and farthingales, and things.”

Our first years are presenting a collection of women’s undergarments from various periods of history, inspired by everything from medieval renaissance, the excess of the Georgian court, and the new body form of the Victorian era. Each period shows how a woman’s body is sculpted, restricted and supported to comply with the fashionable shapes of the era.
