Bullet enjoying a pamper session in our new barn!! All of the ponies are settling in incredibly well; I cannot wait for our first ride!
These past few days have been slightly chaotic. Unpacking, Organizing, Deep Cleaning, Property Maintenance, Etc. I wouldn’t change it for the world though.🖤

Had a lovely wee flatwork season with Bertie this evening, focusing on leg yielding and some flying changes! He was such a good boy and basically went foot perfect, I couldn’t have asked for a better horse 🥹

I honestly can’t believe I’m saying this but it’s nearly time to start riding in the indoor school! I’m so grateful to have an indoor school at my yard it’s so handy for the winter 🤭

Finally getting around to a proper introduction post! 👋✨

Hi everyone, I’m Annie (Seastorm). Most days you’ll find me covered in shavings and hoof oil around Silverglade Equestrian Center, where I work full-time as a showjumping groom. I'm so grateful to be able to be on the ground with some of the best horses and riders on Jorvik.

The horse in the photo is Kinetic Chrome, known around the barn as Charlie. He’s an 8-year-old Jorvik Warmblood gelding he has legs for days, and the sweetest, pocket-pony personality once he figures out you have peppermint treats.

He can be a little bold and opinionated under saddle (typical Warmblood brain lol), but the scope and honesty he has over fences just blow me away every single ride.

Balancing 5 AM barn shifts with bringing along your own horse definitely tests your caffeine limits, but the dream is to take Charlie all the way through the ranks to the grand prix circuit and I wouldn’t trade the grind for anything.

Can’t wait to share our journey with you guys! 🤍🐴

𝗔𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩 | 𝟴:𝟬𝟬𝗮𝗺: Just like the last few days, I got up early today so I could have the riding arena all to myself. I quietly rode my laps, occasionally approaching the oxer in the middle of the arena. Ava hasn’t said a single word to me since we’ve been here. Which I can understand. I would have been fine here on my own, but my parents insisted that I shouldn’t move all by myself to a farm in the middle of nowhere, and since none of my friends have anything to do with horses, there was no one else left but Ava, who isn’t even remotely my friend.
After an hour, I finished my training and led Matador from the riding arena back to the stable. I quickly unsaddled him, threw a cooling blanket over him, and took him to his stall. Just as I was leaving the stable and heading back to the main house, I heard an excited woman’s voice calling out and several horses neighing. I followed the voice and found Claudia standing in front of an excited herd of Windmeres. Again and again, she ran back and forth with her arms outstretched to keep the herd together. “Claudia!” I called out to her and stepped closer to the scene. “What’s going on here?!” Her head snapped around. I could see the despair and fear in her eyes. “A Windmere herd was delivered last night in very poor condition. I’d driven them out here to pasture, but a few horses seem to have damaged the fence, and all the horses have broken out. Can you help me drive the herd over to the other paddock?” she called to me as she struggled to keep the horses together. “Yes, wait a second! Maybe I can quickly reach someone who can help!” I replied, pulling out my cell phone. “Hurry!” Claudia cried. I quickly dialed Ava’s number. Impatiently, I listened to the ringing until the voicemail kicked in. I sighed and quickly texted her: “SOS!! Windmere herd has broken out! Need help IMMEDIATELY!!!” When I looked up from my phone, I just caught sight of someone coming out of the main house. “Hey!” I called out, “The herd has broken out! Get everyone you can find!”

Kinetic Chrome was an absolute powerhouse in the ring today.

The warmup had me a little nervous—he was definitely feeling the atmosphere, running on high revs, and staring down every single banner along the rail. But the second we heard the buzzer and crossed the start timers, it was like a switch flipped.

He locked onto every fence and never questioned a single line. My only real job was staying out of his way and trusting his stride, something I've (mostly) managed to do. He gave this oxer in particular so much daylight, and he traditionally saved me in a couple tighter spots.

You win some, you lose some but having a partner who his heart out like that is what's really important. Beyond proud of my boy. 🤍🐴
