Hey fam, Join me October 17th at 11am for We Demand Comics, at the Brooklyn Community Pride Center for the post NYC Comicon chill down convention where authors and artists celebrate the intersection of prose and graphic novels. At 3:15 pm, I’ll be participating in Horror Across the Mediums. Emmett Nahil, Joe Corallo, Jamal Hodge, Danny Lore, and Emmett Nahil, moderated by Daniel Stalter: Horror as a genre is more popular than it has ever been, thriving across multiple mediums, from prose and poetry to comics and film. Each medium uses its inherent strengths to scare and fascinate us in equal measure. What sorts of effects can be pulled off in one medium that are more challenging in others? What aspects of the genre are uniquely suited for comics? Plus, 50% of Ticket Sales go to the Octavia Project to help them in their mission: using speculative fiction as a lens through which young girls and non-binary teens get to envision new futures and greater possibilities for our world; blending creative writing, art, science, and technology. 100% of book sales go to the authors and creatives. #hodgecinema #comiccon #brooklyn #instagood

🌿 As Summer Fades Into Fall… 🍂 We slow down long enough to give thanks—to God, to nature, and to the land for another season of abundance. 🙏🏾🌱 From fresh greens to fruits and vegetables pulled straight from the earth, every harvest is a reminder that when we nurture the land, the land nurtures us. As one season ends and another begins, we remain grateful for the food, the lessons, the community, and every seed that became something worth sharing. 🥬🍅🌽 Thank God. Honor the land. Celebrate the harvest. Feed the community. #FreedomFarm #HarvestSeason #SummerToFall #FarmLife #FarmToTable FoodSovereignty FreshHarvest CommunityFarming Gratitude Abundance

LAUNCH: I’M NOT A GOOD PERSON, I’M A NEW YORKER By Jamal Hodge A couple weeks ago, we celebrated the sold-out launch of I’m Not a Good Person, I’m a New Yorker at The Twisted Spine in Brooklyn. A night of NYC, social horror, philosophy, poetry, and that uniquely New York brand of humanity. I’m endlessly inspired by my brotha Jamal, who has never been afraid to tell the truth, whether through the streets, the page, or the screen. Key takeaway: BE VULNERABLE. HAVE COURAGE. This collection explores race, class, love, loss, survival, and the beauty and brutality of New York City. The book belongs to all of you now. Get your copy wherever books are sold. Support art that makes you feel something. 🗽📖
