AI doesn’t replace a great team.

It makes a great team better.

Day 3 is about blending AI with human talent so your people can spend less time on repetitive work—and more time doing the things only humans can do.

The future isn’t AI or your team.

It’s AI + your team. 🤝

This week on the podcast, we are excited to share this conversation I had with @infulldetail all about how to *actually* grow on social media! You won't want to miss this one!

Week 6 of the Free Brands Marketing Accelerator was all about DIY product photography.

Our founders learned that you don’t need a studio or a fancy camera to make their products shine. Just a phone, good light, and a little creativity. Gina Ribando of In Full Detail Creative Agency showed our cohort how to plan a shot with intention. Everything they need, using what they already have at home.

Tonight Gina returns to teach social media foundation, helping our founders take the photos they just learned to shoot and actually put them to work.

Thank you, Gina, for showing up for our entrepreneurs and teaching them to tell their story through a lens.

What an important and powerful talk we had last month with Brisa Lauren. Thank you for keeping at the forefront our connected humanity and the importance of actively participating in the change that’s relevantly needed in the times at hand. We are so excited for your vision of creativity and community and activism intertwined through 320…we are excitedly awaiting its opening!

Thank you to the San Diego Central Library and Library Foundation for their continued support and sponsorship of our events. We love gathering at the Library each month! The tabling of the current art show in the Judith Harris Gallery on the top floor of the library was so wonderful to have and introduce the upstairs Gallery to newcomers. And if you’re ready for Halloween, Jaidacyn aka EcoGirl shared the Fright for Future Haunted Maze of True Terror. Our beautiful postcards were of paintings by artist Stephen Williams and printed by our sponsor Hudson Printing. Speaking of printing, we had the newly established San Diego Printmaking Society screen printing the coolest collab mementos on bags and boards! San Diego Climate Week shared with us about their flourishing initiative happening this week so go find a cool event, there are tons!

Each month we are so appreciative of our connected community, showing up and continuing to build on inspiring and supporting one another. Each 30 second pitch and thoughtful question deepens our impact in each others’ lives. Thank you for showing up, holding space for one another and creating the creative community we love.

Stay tuned for this month’s talk!

Summit diary, Day 3: Notion HQ. Day one of the Summit is done. Met more ambassadors and Notinos, talked about the future, and learnt a lot. The best part is the connections I’ve made 🫶

Day 7 of San Diego Climate Week and today is California Clean Air Day. 🌬️🌿

We are one day away from the finish line and San Diego is still showing up in full force. Today's lineup is as diverse and dynamic as this city itself, from a volunteer morning at Barron Creek Farm in Oceanside and a casual climate coworking session in North Park, to a deep dive into what happens to retired technology, a Council of All Beings workshop near the border, and a clean energy panel at Bivouac Adventure Lodge. This afternoon, Scripps Institution of Oceanography brings together leading scientists at Scripps Seaside Forum to break down what San Diego should expect from the incoming El Niño, a conversation every San Diegan needs to hear.

As the evening arrives, the options are everywhere. Catch a screening of The True Cost followed by an upcycle workshop downtown, try your hand at no-sew quilt art at San Diego Made Factory, join a wildlife and climate trivia night at Pure Project North Park, explore how housing policy connects to climate policy, learn about the health impacts of wildfires and extreme temperatures in Del Mar, go face to face with mountain lions — figuratively — at Mission Trails Regional Park, and close out the night at the Cali-Baja Exchange with the International Community Foundation.

And of course, tonight is the SDCW Air Summit at Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park from 5:30–8:00 PM. EV test drives, a live clean air panel, free tapas, live music, massages, and a closing performance by the Spreckels Organist. Get there the climate-friendly way, join the BikeSD group ride departing from Old Trolley Barn Park at 4:45PM or catch the RideSD bus from Replay Toys Boutique starting at 4:30PM. 🚲🚌

Seven days in and this community continues to inspire us beyond words. Thank you San Diego. 🙏

⚠️ Reminder, the Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through tomorrow at 8PM. Please stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and be mindful at any outdoor events today. Find cooling centers at sandiego.gov/PlacesToCoolDown.

A little recap from the first-ever Orange County Notion Meetup 👀 hosted by @skybluejenny

We spent the evening talking about the future of creative work, where technology is taking us, and what it means to build + create in a rapidly changing world.

Big thank you to our speakers, everyone who came out, and the Notion community for making the night happen.
Loved seeing so many creative people in one room. Let’s do it again soon. 🤝

In March of this year, an organization I built from the ground was taken from me. A career I’ve given over a decade of my life to decided with one letter, without dignity, I was no longer of value. The truth is, I have felt lost most of the year. Most of my energy has been spent fighting off depression & survival mode while also experiencing a new form of grief. Betrayal hits different when it comes from people who know your heart, who know your character. I always knew God was at the forefront of this decision and it worked in my favor, but it didn’t take away from the fact that it hurt so I spent most of this year in isolation, only spending time with my kids & those who made me feel safe.

I’ve been working hard to get pieces of myself back. Working to find the inspiration, motivation, and above all the discipline to build my life back up. Some days have been better than others, other days I’d be having a full breakdown in the shower so that the boys wouldn’t hear me cry. It’s hard being disconnected from your old life, but not fully connected to your new one. But if you know me, you know I’ve always used my pain for purpose (my album lol) & so I’ve been building slowly every day and every day I recognize myself a little more.

This season is an invitation to stop trying to build in a place I’ve outgrown. It’s been an invitation to redefine my identity, removing it from my titles and my career, and align my identity with God and the purpose of my existence. The opportunity to speak at @creativemornings_sd was the first time I’ve shared publicly what I’ve been enduring this year but it was also the first time I’ve shared what I’ve been building because of it. And for the first time in a long time, it felt like I was coming back home to myself. So if you are in a season of your own forced transitions, if you’re standing in a life you no longer recognize, you are not alone! Let your current moment become a movement and keep building what’s rightfully yours! Thank you @creativemornings_sd for a piece of myself back and for the platform to encourage attendees to meet the current moment with creativity. #CreativeMornings #CultureCon

I spent the week in awe of these incredible speakers; each of them shared messages that one or all of us truly needed to hear, and they all have so much knowledge, power, and grace. I’m truly inspired by how they showed up for themselves and each other, and by the impact they are creating and will continue to create in each community they lead and will reach from here🤍

I can’t begin to express the gratitude I have for the work I get to do, and most importantly for the people I’m lucky enough to work with.

Huge thanks to all those behind the scenes who helped make this happen!!
