$❤️‍🔥😈 B-B-B-Bad to the Bone 💃🏼💟 This time 2 yrs ago, my contract ended at my big girl job in Adelaide (Indigenous sexual health 🍌🍑 for those new here), I’d just had reconstructive knee surgery, & I decided to make the move to Melbz. I had dreams of working in Drůg Science (✅) (but also had a secret side mission of exploring the arts scene [to fulfil my other long-standing secret side mission of becoming a rockstar/that diva]). This time 1 yr ago, I visited New York. I was inspired by 4 insane Broadway shows, & went to a Drag Brunch on Fire Island & shared an iconic theatrical moment with queen Sabel Cities. 🤩 Since then, I’ve been gathering enough resources & spoons (& a home) to be able to complete a term of classes & perform at a @maisonburlesque Cherry Popper’s Showcase. I’ve followed Maison on socials since before I decided to move here, & every term I would see how big of a production their epic Showcases were. Performing on stage at Max Watts, under lights, dancing with my shadows & a bunch of other rad women, having my friends cheer my name (‘F\_/CK YES ApRiL!!’ in the quiet, walk-in moment is a stand out 😂)- THE WHOLE THING WAS INCREDIBLE. Performing for an audience - showing people what I do/practice when I’m alone, painting & jeweling my face, shaping horns into my rainbow mullet, & designing a costume fit for a devil. 😈 I fkn love ALL of it. Getting back on the tools (sewing machine etc.) was a much needed wave of creativity that warmed my soul ❤️‍🔥 (lewk details in comments queens 💅) I am super grateful for the support from my new, beautiful community (I had 15 people come watch me!!!). The feedback I received from friends, strangers & backstage was overwhelming! 🥹 I’m very proud of myself for making this happen & feeling like I’m stepping/sl\_/+ dropping closer toward my dreams ✨💟✨ (Ps. Now resting in recovery, there’s only so many hours of woo’s a auditory sensitive girlie can handle, even with my loop earplugs 😂) ⤵️💅⤵️💅⤵️$
