- How do you count your dead, or maybe you just don’t... A reflection on the number of people deceased from COVID-19, looking at the discrepancies in the statistics. Unfortunately, every country has its own way of doing this. Italy, which theoretically has more dead from this disease than China, count all deceased infected with the virus, no matter what the actual cause of death. As the majority of dead are elderly with previous health problems, which the Coronavirus will aggravate, die from a range of causes. The first example here was a 90-year-old woman in hospital in a serious state after a heart attack and probably would not have made it. At the hospital she contracted the virus, and further weakened died of heart failure. In Italy she is counted as dead from the Coronavirus, while in countries as Germany she would be registered as dead from heart failure. Which is why Germany with nearly 20,000 infected yesterday had only 59 dead, while Spain, with a similar figure, had 1041. I can understand why South Corea and Iran have different practices in these matters, but couldn’t the European Union decide on a common policy?!? 🦠🤔👎🏽 #coronavirusitaly #coronavirus #COVID19 Statistics from Wikipedia 2019-20 Coronavirus , updated daily. 🦠https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019%E2%80%9320_coronavirus_pandemic?wprov=sfti1

- The cheeky seagull that insists on standing on my my potted succulents, even arriving specifically to drink water from the plates, so I have had to buy smaller plates for all 12 of them to stop some of the damage done by those seagull claws. Think it’s a young female, but I insist on calling it Him. 🐦 #islandlife #seagull #yellowleggedgull #gabbiano #gabbianoimpertinente #gabbianoreale #Gabbianomediterraneo #zampegialle #Larusmichahellis #Medelhavstrut
