Stock photos. A career killer? That’s what they told me.

A few years ago, Ingrid and I shot a whole stock series in Bali.
Some fellow models warned me: “Pingo, this could be the end of your career.”

Well… it wasn’t. Quite the opposite.
Those images probably brought me more jobs than they ever cost me.

Sometimes breaking an old rule is simply the better move.
The industry changes. And I’d rather change with it than follow rules whose time has passed.

Was it a sin? Maybe. Would I do it again? Absolutely.

And here’s the original. 😉

Straight from the camera of 📷snapper @steve_brookland with my wonderful model partner @ingki32

So… did you guess right?

We’re still real. The photo is real.
AI was simply used as a tool — just not for what you probably thought.

Sometimes, it’s never what you think. 😏

Never Give Up Dancing

You don’t need a dance floor.
You don’t need a partner.
You don’t need a beach, a club, or even a mirror.

Dance in your living room. Dance in your kitchen. Dance while standing, or even while sitting if that’s all your body allows today.

Movement is one of the most joyful forms of prevention. It keeps the body alive, the mind awake, and the spirit young.

The longer you stop, the harder it can be to start again. So don’t wait for the perfect moment.

Put on your favorite song.

And dance.

Never give up dancing. 💃🕺

Around this time last year, I had the privilege of playing the patriarch of a billionaire family for six days on Thanda Island, off the coast of Tanzania. An island that can be had for $30,000 a night—something completely outside my realm. And yet, during those six days, I experienced something priceless: genuine enjoyment, genuine gratitude, genuine wonder. I'm convinced that I felt this moment more intensely than many for whom such luxury is commonplace. Perhaps that's precisely the difference. Not in possession, but in the ability to truly feel the moment. #actorslife #forevergrateful #pingomagduschewski @pingoscolors

Years from now, it won’t be the days you remember most,
but the moments.

The laughter carried on the ocean breeze,
the glow of a fire under an endless sky,
and the joy of being together.

At Thanda Island, these are the memories that stay with you.

We once committed a “big sin” as Best Ager Models: we did stock photos. The deal? Photographer Steve Brookland invited us to Bali for two weeks, all expenses paid, and shot several series with us as an older couple.

One set was especially funny: we smoked a fake joint (just tobacco). Years later, those pics showed up in the US & UK in articles claiming that smoking weed could spice up the sex life of older couples. I got screenshots from all over the world – hilarious!

Yes, we survived our stock photo sin. And honestly: model life is fun. 🌴📸

If reality surpasses—or has surpassed—your dreams, then you’ve just returned from Thanda Island and experienced a family that functioned almost as harmoniously and wonderfully as your own. I’m so grateful to have been part of this, and for everyone reading along, be prepared: Over the next few weeks, you’ll gradually see one or two pictures or clips that were created. Stay focused, stay tuned, and stay curious!

Repeating a special story - with my Martin Travel guitar

In 2018 I had the pleasure of doing a shoot with Ingrid Becker in Bali. The photographer asked me to bring my guitar - a problem, because my large guitar would have meant an additional piece of luggage. The solution? The Martin Travel guitar - perfect for hand luggage, practical with its additional pockets.

Now, seven years later, the story repeats itself: A new shoot with Ingrid, this time on a private island in the Indian Ocean, not far from Zanzibar and Mafia Island. I’m not allowed to reveal any details yet, but one thing is certain: My Martin Travel guitar is back!

Next Friday it starts - a wonderful, romantic, but completely business trip. I’m looking forward to what’s to come!
