From competition comebacks to a different kind of comeback 🥋⚓🤘🏼

For years, coming back from an injury always meant one thing: getting ready to compete again. This time, the goal was different — but it meant just as much to me.

The past few weeks definitely came with some ups and downs. Knee surgery, rehab, patience (not exactly my biggest strength 😅) and working my way back step by step.

But today, the @fullmetalcruise finally starts in Palma and I’m incredibly happy to be back on board! 🖤🚢

I can’t wait to meet everyone joining my Karate sessions and bring some Metal Karate back to the ship🤘🏼🔥

And yes — a little throwback to training with @alea_saltatio from @saltatiomortis Unfortunately, he won’t be joining us this time but training together was such a cool experience. Maybe we’ll get another round in someday 👊🏼

Sometimes the goal changes — but the feeling of working your way back doesn’t. 🙏🏼✨

See you on board! ⚓🖤

Follow for weekly Karate tips, drills & breakdowns ✨

Cult of Plush / Part Two

Alright, dear Wacken, you’re gonna have to be strong for this one, because we’re heading back down into the wonderful world of completely sweat-soaked plush onesies, liters of booze, and Wastelanders whose control over their own bodies disappears a little more with every round.

Suddenly there’s a blue unicorn with a long brown mane headbanging next to a brown bear handing out booze from a canister to thirsty metalheads – and a few hours later, half the bunch is barely dressed on the dancefloor anyway. Just another perfectly normal night in the Wasteland.

My flash went off so many times that night you’d think I was personally trying to make up for the missing strobe light. Meanwhile, everyone kept dancing, sweating, drinking and shamelessly losing their shit, with the fires and lights of the stage providing the perfect post-apocalyptic backdrop.

At some point, plush, sweat, booze and flashes all melted into one big fever dream.

The night flew by, morning came way too quickly, and eventually you weren’t entirely sure what had actually happened and what your thoroughly cooked brain had simply made up along the way.

But that’s exactly what I’m here for:

Blasting you in the face with my flash all night long – and somehow capturing a few pretty damn nice memories along the way.

Cheers.
