I WAS “LOCKED IN” BY AN ALARM ON MY ICU BED. Post Brain Surgery Precaution. So AS SOON as I could get UP and wander the Neuro-ICU halls - that’s where I was: Reclaiming Independence…Greeting the Sunlight…Test-Driving the New Wheels…👋🏼🧠🌞 #nevergiveup #brainsurgery #gratitude #love #life

“Balance is not something you find, it’s something you create.” -Jane Kingford

💛Do you agree with that?

This was a pic that my dear friend Ingrid took yesterday at lunch. I divide life into 7 key areas that I do my best to balance on a weekly basis.

My 7 Pillars of Abundance are: spiritual, physical, emotional, romantic, mental, social and financial.

Creating balance definitely takes discipline. For example, I try to schedule one weekly social visit with a friend.

With so many things being thrown at us on the daily, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.

When I start to feel like this, I know something is out of balance in my life.

Either I’ve said yes to too many things, or I am allowing other things to occupy too much mental space.

I’ve had to learn some tips along the way, since life definitely isn’t slowing down!!🙃

🧘‍♀️Determine your definition of balance

🧘‍♀️Separate work from home

🧘‍♀️Time block

🧘‍♀️Practice self care

🧘‍♀️Don’t be afraid to ask for help

🧘‍♀️Disconnect to reconnect

🧘‍♀️Simplify - you don’t have to do it all

🧘‍♀️Be willing to say no

Which one of those tips are you BEST at? Comment below. ⬇️

Horse available for adoption or rescue at Baldwin Park Animal Shelter.

#A5562131 Marshall is a gorgeous 16-year-old male quarter horse mix who arrived at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as a stray on June 20. Within a few days, Marshall was treated for sores on his back hooves and on his back. While few other details are known about Mr. Majestic himself, quarter horses are popular because they are friendly and fast! No one has stepped up to reclaim marvelous Marshall, so now is your chance to provide love and care to a horse whose breed can handle both novice riders and skillful experts.

Bring home a piece of American history, and don’t be surprised when he gives you much more than just a piece of his heart!

#A5563417 Tristan is a 20-year-old white male Andalusian horse who arrived at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as a stray on June 24. Although not much is known about Tristan, he was treated at the ACC for a sore on his nose bridge.
Andalusians make ideal horses for beginners as well as experts, but they thrive best when treated to challenging work that engages their minds and their athletic bodies. Whether showing Tristan or just showering him with all the love he deserves, the right adopter will never give more to this handsome horse than he returns in temperament and talent!

There is this boy I know named Rainbow Trout🌈, we do interpretive dance routines in his living room before we hit LA trails.
His Momma @ingridheather asked if I'd create something with his image to guard the sanctity of her front door.💕
This is the start on raw canvas.
Can't wait to share the final version.
