Yesterday’s tree planting at Pinnaroo Point was such a rewarding way to spend the day 🌱

Together, we planted 1,500 native plants to help restore the local environment. As someone whose artwork is inspired by nature and our oceans, it’s important to me to help protect the places that inspire what I create.

Small actions can make a real difference 💚🌊

Thank you to @coexist.au, @perthnrm, @hillarysbeachclub and @city_of_joondalup for organising such a meaningful day and giving us the opportunity to make a difference.

Meet Ingrid Ravasi — a biologist and artist who uses creativity as a bridge between people and biodiversity conservation.

Through her project @ingridwildlines Ingrid brings the wonder of the natural world closer to home, inspiring a deeper appreciation for wildlife and the habitats that sustain it.

In her article Our Tiny Neighbours: Protecting Wild Pollinators in Our Communities, created for the Great Exhibition of Bees, Ingrid invites us into the hidden world of wild pollinators — small creatures whose importance often goes unnoticed, yet whose role in our ecosystems is essential.

Did you know that there are more than 20,000 bee species worldwide?

In her artwork and article, Ingrid highlights the fascinating Hairy-Footed Flower Bee (Anthophora plumipes), one of the earliest wild bees to emerge in spring. While often mistaken for a honeybee, this solitary species quietly pollinates early-blooming plants long before most other insects become active.

The article also shares simple ways we can all support wild pollinators:

🌿 Create nesting spaces for solitary bees
🌿 Leave a corner of your garden a little wild
🌿 Plant native flowering species
🌿 Avoid pesticides whenever possible

Protecting wild pollinators does not always require large conservation projects. Sometimes it begins with small choices made right outside our own doors.

We invite you to discover Ingrid’s beautiful artwork and read her inspiring article on how we can make space for wild bees in our communities.

🐝 We are all connected.

Meet the artists of the Great Exhibition of Bees 2026 — this year under the theme: “We are all connected”. 🐝〰️
Today we present the work of: Ingrid Ravasi @ingridwildlines

Discover collectible artworks, postcards, craft, design, and functional art created by artists from around the world united through care for wild nature, biodiversity, and wild bees.

This year, artworks also become collectible postcards carrying art and knowledge further into the world.

Let art and knowledge travel.

Each postcard combines artistic expression with educational stories about wild bees and ecological connections — traveling through galleries, bookstores, museums, homes, and people.

The Great Exhibition of Bees raises awareness about the importance of wild pollinators and healthy ecosystems, building year after year a growing chain of connections — much like the ecological relationships existing in nature itself.

This year, the exhibition expands as a dispersed international network traveling through galleries, bookstores, museums, and places close to nature.

You will discover the works in many locations joining the exhibition throughout the year and online at togetherforbees.com
