🌹 rites of passage are so lacking in our western culture.

we move through initiation after initiation, loss, birth, transformation, and so often no one is there to hold us through it. and when a threshold isn't honored, we get stuck. we get misled. we carry things in our bodies that never get expressed, never get grieved, never get made into art.

embodied feminine leadership isn't the performance of it, the pictures, the language, the aesthetic. it's being willing to grieve. to let a version of yourself ritually die. to sit in the fertile soil before anything new can grow.

that's what i'm diving into tomorrow with my sister @roxanneruby inside inheritance collective, 2-3pm pacific.

but wherever you are right now, this is true for you too: whatever threshold you're standing at doesn't need to be crossed alone, and it doesn't need to look pretty to be sacred.

Maybe the goal was never to keep rescuing bees from a world that makes life difficult for them.

Maybe the goal is to create a world that works for them in the first place.

That means habitat. Flowers. Nesting places. Clean water. Diverse landscapes. Fewer things working against them.

Not a world where bees need saving.

A world where they can simply be bees. 🐝

That is part of what we will be talking about on Saturday in Learning to Notice with @inheritancecollective : what changes when we stop looking at nature as something separate from us, and start paying attention to the living world around us.

Because noticing is where a different relationship can begin.

I keep finding myself stopping to watch bees doing things I would have completely missed a few years ago. And I think that is one of the biggest changes beekeeping has made to the way I see the world.

Once you start paying attention, you notice so much more. Not just what bees are doing, but what is happening between bees, flowers, other insects, plants and the places they live.

That is what I want to explore in my upcoming talk with @inheritancecollective

This past month hosting Community Days at @yacumamaecovillage has been an absolute blessing beyond 🔥⚡️💛

Together we are proof that the village is our hope for the future.

It felt so good to put the philosophy of @inheritancecollective into steady practice and demonstrate to ourselves that when we unite, miracles are possible.

We worked, prayed, played, feasted and cared for one another’s children and elders.

It has been a little glimpse, one day per week, into the dream of community that many of us carry.

Thank you to the immaculate land and holy waters of Yacumama for holding us and huge gratitude to all who came out and made these days so special.

I gained a few new best friends and a whole basket of memories to cherish.

Looking forward to more, when the time aligns.

Hello beauties,

I want to extend my deepest gratitudes for all the efforts in raising funds for the building of Casa Tortuga, a Mayan Indigenous Birthing Center in Santa Lucía Utatlán, Sololá. We raised $3000 USD and officially sent over the funds today on a very auspicious day in the Mayan Cosmovision.

We are currently moving through a tracena of N’OJ, the Nawal of Earth, Mind, Intellect, talented, analytical, visionary, idealistic, philosophical, Embodiment.

Today is OXIB’ KOWOQ!
OXIB’ is the tone of 3, representing rhythm and (inner) movement. Triangular connection between the cosmos, Mother Earth and our human selves.

KOWOQ is the Nawal of the midwife, turtle, Storm, Community – tender, sensitive, nurturing, feminine, grandmotherly, patient energy.

So on this auspicious day our visionary community has gifted the Guatemalan midwife collective $3000 towards their Casa Tortuga, “House of Turtle.” On the day of the midwife and tone of mother, earth & cosmos. 🐢 As above so below may this offering from our hearts be a prayer and deep seed planted for the continuation of honoring the sacred portal of birth and how souls enter our earth plan. As well as the upliftment of the feminine spirit and the holy mother.

Thank you to my Maya Cosmovision teacher @paolaucelo_ and to @christineolivia_ for helping the collective to stay connected to sacred time through her beautiful Mayan Oracle Deck.

Thank you to @loverofthegarden for birthing @inheritancecollective and giving us a way to take action towards what truly matters in these changing times on Earth.

Beyond excited for this live conversation happening with @charles_eisenstein in @inheritancecollective tomorrow!!!

This movement is a response to the peculiar moment we find ourselves in now as humanity.

Charles is a phenomenal thought leader and one of my favorite authors, eloquently bringing words to the world we are living in.

His perspective is well informed and hopeful.

Tomorrow we will open a dialogue that addresses how we can find stable ground within a changing landscape.

Our collective has raised $2,000 for Casa Tortuga and has nearly 100 members united in this first month of birthing the vision.

Nana Rosalia is a Ajq’ij from the Maya K’ichè lineage, mother of 8, midwife of 45 years & has facilitated over 3,000 births. In this video clip she speaks to the disconnection women have to the earth, their bodies, the sacred & the consequences of this. This global disconnection has inspired her and her daughters to build a birthing center in service to their ancestral Maya ways of birthing so women can bring life into this world safely, empowered, educated & connected to earth & creator.

Out of my 37 years in life one my highlight of living has been in the moments of giving birth to my three children. The sacred dance between me, my child, god and the earth. Working as one to bring forth life.

I do not take for granted my birth experiences with all three of my children. I was informed and had a husband who was my pillar of protection. I desire all women to feel as liberated, euphoric and powerful as I did while bringing my children onto this emerald earth. This is my mission.

Just in this month I have witnessed the machine that is the medicalized birthing system with two women I know personally. A setting that sets women up to be disempowered immediately upon arrival to the hospital leading to C-sections for both.

I share more of this in this video clip, a part one to this little reel series I plan to share in solidarity to women birthing safe, empowered and deeply connected to the earth and cosmos.

This video is a clip from the @inheritancecollective community broadcast. We are currently raising funds to support the incredible midwives of Guatemala build a birthing center that is in devotion to safe, sacred, empowered birthing. Rooted in their ancestral midwifery and cosmovision.

Tomorrow I will share a clip of Nana Rosalia’s transmission. A elder midwife who has midwifed over 3,000 births, she stopped counting.
