The Remnant Within by @inkbymkj Book Review:

I really enjoyed this book! Thank you to MKJ for reaching out and sharing this book with me. I would classify this as a sci-fi thriller, reminding me of something written by Blake Crouch. It was kind of creepy and unsettling at times, but it was also an interesting story about grief and how we process grief.

What didn’t really work for me was the ending, it just felt like it ended very quickly, and I wanted a little more wrap up for some of the characters, and the multiple POVs were sometimes unclear as to which character was telling the story. But overall, I really liked this and would recommend!

@inkbymkj was lovely enough to send me his work. Thank you for trusting me to review your writing.

@inkbymkj explores the most human emotion of all:heartbreak. This book doesn’t just look at the mechanics of the mind, it looks at the void left behind when someone is trapped between life and memory. It’s a haunting reminder that holding on too tightly can sometimes be its own kind of tragedy. 🧬🖤#bookreviews #grief #author #canva

The Remnant Within Review!
First reaction: Wow. Just wow.
Thank you to @inkbymkj
I haven't read anything like this before and doubt I will again, but I would in a heartbeat !
Potential spoilers ahead!
A girl almost died in a car accident, her best friend in the car as well. Friend walks away with not a whole lot of injuries but a whole lot of guilt. Our main character has surgery but her brain is still swollen. Her dad makes the impossible choice to do an illegal surgery just to get her back. It worked, but not in the way he hoped. He knew the risks, but still did it. Boy, was that a mistake. She gets a 'new mind', and it's unlike anything she expects. She finds out just what was done to her, and first tries to 'fix' it and then just accepts it. The ending was perfect and everything I needed.
I won't lie, after about the first third of the book, I didn't really see a point to continue with the book. I didn't see the vision to where the author was going. I wish I had, I think that's why it took me a bit longer to finish. I just didn't get it. But I will say, once the author made me realize what our main character was and what she needed to do, I was hooked until the end !!
I highly recommend this book to any one who wants a good psychological thriller in a different way, this is for you !
Highly recommend! #psychologicalthriller #medicalthriller #kindlereads #bookaholic

Some authors want to be seen. Others prefer to be read. Both deserve respect.

MKJ wishes to preserve his privacy and be recognized for his work, not his image. Respecting that choice is also a way of valuing the person behind the writing.

In a world where everything seems to demand exposure, choosing anonymity deserves respect. We don't need to know the face behind the words to feel their power, appreciate the author's talent, or connect with their stories.

May MKJ be known for the stories he tells and the impact he leaves on his readers. After all, words can shine without their author standing in the spotlight. 🤍

📖 The Remnant Within by M.K.J. @inkbymkj

Some books entertain you, while others make you question everything you thought you knew. 🖤

The Remnant Within is a thought-provoking read that blends science, mystery, and psychological suspense in a unique way. What caught my attention most was the idea of rebuilding a human mind and the questions that come with it.

The story explores how grief can push people to make unimaginable choices and how the desire to hold on to someone can sometimes cross the line between love and obsession.

I found the concept fascinating because it makes you think about something we rarely question: if a person’s memories and identity change, are they still the same person?

It’s an intriguing read for anyone who enjoys morally complicated characters, unexpected revelations, and stories that make you stop and think. 🧠✨

💭 A book that leaves you wondering: how far is too far when it comes to saving someone you love?

📚 Have you read a book that made you question your own morals?

📚🖤 COMING SOON: BOOK REVIEW! 🔍✨

Next up on my reading list is the Broken Mirror series by MK J! 🖤📖

Featuring:
📕 Desire and Deception
📕 The Remnant Within

And can we PLEASE talk about these titles?! 😍 Secrets, deception, psychological twists, and a little darkness? Oh, I’m already intrigued! 👀

There’s something about a good psychological thriller that gets me every single time. I love a story that challenges my mind, makes me question everyone’s intentions, and has me playing detective like I’m personally getting paid to solve the mystery. 😂🔎

I’m beyond excited to dive into these two books and see what MK J has in store for me!

I’ll be sharing my full review by the end of the month, so stay tuned for my thoughts, theories, favorite moments, and whether these books manage to completely mess with my head. 🤯🖤

As always, expect honest opinions, a healthy dose of sarcasm, and absolutely no sugarcoating. Because around here, we love our books, but we’re not afraid to talk about them! 💋📚

My fellow thriller lovers, what’s the biggest plot twist a book has ever thrown at you? NO SPOILERS! 🤫
