What if becoming a better artist starts with understanding yourself? 👀

Today at @inktopurpose , we connected a powerful lesson from Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence 📚 “Know Thyself” transitioning into the art of drawing portraits✍🏽

Before we can understand the emotions in someone else’s face, we must learn to recognize and understand our own!!

Self awareness teaches us to recognize our emotions. Patience teaches us not to let those emotions control our progress🐆

Every student chose a different portrait, but they all approached their drawings using the same techniques, principles, and foundations. Different faces, different challenges and perspectives but one room, learning and growing together🤍

The lesson I want YOU to take away:

Don’t judge your progress by what your work looks like halfway through. Learn to appreciate the process of who you’re becoming while creating it. These portraits aren’t finished yet, and neither is their growth. That’s the beauty of it!!!

I’m proud of these students for showing up, challenging themselves, and continuing to develop not only their artistic abilities but their minds🙌🏽❤️

Stay tuned for the final results of their portraits! You’re gonna wanna see how these drawings come together🔥

Man, watching this video back truly touched my heart🖤

We’re officially in our second to last week of @inktopurpose , and I couldn’t be more proud of every single one of these individuals🫂🔥

They didn’t just listen to what I taught them. They took it, applied it, and made it their own💯

I’ve watched confidence grow, mindsets shift, friendships form, and people begin believing in themselves in ways they never did before🤝

And the beautiful part? They’ve taught me just as much as I’ve taught them!!!!

This journey was never just about learning how to tattoo, it was about discovering what you’re capable of🐆🐆

Week 10 at Ink to Purpose Academy!🤝🔥

Today we focused on turning our skills into opportunities through pricing, personal branding, client relationships, and understanding the business behind the craft!

Being great at what you do is only half the equation.. Learning how to build something sustainable around it is where the real growth begins!📈

THINK LIKE AN ARTIST
MOVE LIKE AN ENTREPRENEUR 🐆

Today we closed out our week by challenging our students to step outside their comfort zones through realism and semi-realism roses, learning the importance of depth, shading, patience, and precision🌹

But the lesson goes beyond the tattoo machine! We’re teaching our students how to create content, communicate their value, build their personal brands, and develop the confidence to put themselves out into the world 🫂💯

Talent alone won’t build your future. Your discipline, consistency, communication, and willingness to keep learning will 🐆

We’re not just building portfolios. We’re building people who understand their potential and have the courage to pursue it💯💯

This is @inktopurpose 🖤🏆

THE CRAFT IS OUR VEHICLE | PURPOSE IS OUR DIRECTION 🐆🐆

Talent can get you noticed, but clarity is what moves you forward ! 🐆🔥

Wednesday’s lesson at Ink to Purpose was about learning how to communicate with our customers, prepare with intention, and execute with confidence!

Get clear | Communicate better | Execute with purpose

What’s one area of your life that needs more clarity right now? 🎯👀

Yesterday wasn’t just about learning how to tattoo. It was about learning how to turn an IDEA into EXECUTION ✍🏽

@inktopurpose drew , stenciled, placed it , tattooed & documented it 💯📲

Every week, they’re adding another tool to the toolbox.

IT LOOKED LIKE WE GOT KICKED OUT THE SHOP😂😭
Nah… we just refused to cancel class❌💯💯

Today didn’t go according to plan. We had a minor issue inside the shop that needed to be handled, and instead of calling it a day, one of our students said, “Why don’t we just have class outside?”

Everybody was with it, so that’s exactly what we did!!
We took Ink to Purpose OUTSIDE🥳

People walked by looking , Cars slowed down. Some people stopped for a few seconds trying to figure out what we were doing, And we kept learning!!

Today’s class was about content , understanding your audience, learning how different platforms work, creating with intention, documenting your journey, and committing to showing up consistently!! 🐆🔥

But looking back, I think the environment taught another lesson too:

Things will not always go according to plan.
Make the adjustment anyway.

We could’ve canceled, Instead, we adapted 🐆

Ink to Purpose was never supposed to just be about learning how to tattoo. It’s about learning how to think.
How to communicate , how to build , document AND
adjust when life changes the plan !!!

Today, the classroom just happened to have no walls 🌎
If you drove past and saw a whole tattoo class sitting outside today… don’t mind us , we had work to do 😂💯

Think of a time life forced you to adjust instead of quit ? This wasn’t my first rodeo 😮‍💨
