Don’t miss out on your chance to win the LAST Cheese the Cat edition of Child of the Dragon!!

If you missed it, we found out shortly after release that my editor’s cat ALLEGEDLY erased an entire line of text and replaced it with “5” in the middle of a paragraph, and Cheese may or may not have gone SLIGHTLY viral (see pinned reel that’s at NEARLY ONE MILLION FREAKING VIEWS HELLO????) We were able to get it (and two other minor typos) fixed, but not before the first ~100 or so copies had already gone out! So they’re the super exclusive Cheese the Cat editions, and this is the last one!!

If you’re new here! Hi! You can call me Ash! My award-winning debut YA contemporary fantasy Child of the Dragon came out earlier this year from @inkedingraypress, It’s about a ragtag team of shapeshifting dragons in high school taking fate into their own hands to break a curse, stop a king, and still pass calculus!

And stick around because there’s going to be a sequel and a prequel, AND I’m releasing a cozy spooky middle grade book next summer too!

Legal stuff: this isn’t associated with Instagram/meta/etc, no purchase necessary, must be 18 years or older, US only because shipping is so expensive, all the other normal stuff, WINNER WILL BE CONTACTED BY ME BY DM, NO OTHER ACCOUNT!

🩸🔪 MACHETERA IS NOW LIVE🔪🩸

I am so over-the-moon joyful to announce that my short story of a final girl x vampire will finally make it out into the world! I've been lovingly calling this in my head "Puerto Rican Hellcheer" and now it is fully formed and fleshed out, ready to be devoured by all!

I'd like to thank @inkedingraypress for putting together such a tight, well crafted anthology. I can't wait to sink my teeth into it 🧛

PREMISE 🩸
Leaving Ravenscar after the death of her mother should have been the last time Verónica Gutiérrez ever saw that godsforsaken town, but the death of an old friend prompts her to return to honor him with one final goodbye.

Too bad his body was never found.

Alejandro Vázquez was never one to go out lying down, and he’s going to make sure anyone who ever shunned him— or Vero— remembers him, one way or another.

TROPES 🔪
Puerto Rican Pride
Vampire x Final Girl
Metalhead x Cheerleader
High School Reunion Gone Wrong
1980s Setting

Looking for frightening reads this October? You’ve come to the right place.

Set in an eerie town called Ravenscar, Come Out Come Out Wherever You Are is a horror #anthology filled with haunting tales, mysterious monsters, strange sightings, and fights for survival. Edited by @carnivoreincosplay and Published by @inkedingraypress .

My sapphic short story Miss Manananggal—about a girl torn between the town her mother left behind and the monster she loves—is part of this anthology, alongside other chill-inducing stories, and will be out on October 6! Check out Inked In Gray Press’ website!

I’ve been quiet the past few months but I’m thrilled to finally get the chance to talk more about the anthology! (Yes, that means more posts to come 👀)

Enjoy the frights with Come Out Come Out Wherever You Are!

Content warnings: ableism, gore, violence

🔪 OCTOBER’S NEW HORROR ANTHOLOGIES THAT WILL SEND SHIVERS DOWN YOUR SPINE + HAUNT YOUR DREAMS 🔪

This year has definitely already seen more than it’s fair share of astonishing short fiction collections that all revolve around the world of horror writing. Last month, I compiled a list of a few anthologies that would be arriving in the month of September and after looking at what was coming up in October, I wanted to do the same again. (Are we looking at a regular monthly feature here? Who knowsssss?)

The selections of horror anthologies for October are special in that they all come from independent publishers and small presses, which only goes to show the range of incredible writing that is occurring right now in the horror writing space and in so many other genres as well. These publishers and presses are the lifeblood and the future of the book world and it’s imperative that we throw our support behind them in any way that we can so they can continue to give a voice to diverse writers around the world.

💀 What is your all-time favourite collection of short stories from any genre? 💀

COME OUT, COME OUT, WHEREVER YOU ARE
A SCREAM QUEERS ANTHOLOGY
edited by K. Psych (@carnivoreincosplay)
published by Inked In Gray Press (@inkedingraypress)
published October 6, 2026

In a fitting tribute to the mission statement of the indie press responsible for it, the stories that make up Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are all take place within the town of Ravenscar - a misunderstood community with a dark history that is on full display in this homage to The Twilight Zone and American Horror Story. Diners filled with glassy-eyed locals that stare at newcomers, vacant storefronts that come alive at night, a library filled with lost footage and articles all leading to...something, Ravenscar is the ultimate town of misfits and mystery worth exploring. Featuring stories from writers like Phylicia Walker, Grace E. Ludlow, E.M. Bancroft and Rien Gray, this collection feels like it might just be the sleeper hit anthology of the best season of the year.
