Ok, I am obsessed with this big red boot ❤️

I have been looking forward to seeing Oklahoma City's newest art installation since I first heard about it. Well, Kicks 66 is here, and it's everything I had hoped it would be.

Located right by the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum - a perfect fit, I must say - this sculpture by artist Cameron Eagle welcomes visitors and locals alike to Route 66 and celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Mother Road.

Oklahoma City just got prettier 🥰

Yesterday was a moment that just felt like you were really part of making history. Where you’ll tell your grandkids one day “I was there when that all happened.”

It was such an honor to be invited to the official presentation and ribbon cutting for the new Kicks 66 boot in front of the Cowboy Museum. If you haven’t seen it in person yet, make plans to go. Pictures don’t do it justice. Standing 35 feet tall (1” taller than the record-breaking one in TX), it’s already being called what could become Oklahoma’s most photographed landmark.
The ceremony celebrated 100 years of Route 66, and it felt like the perfect blend of honoring our past while looking toward the future. We each wrote postcards to people 100 years from now that will be sealed inside a time capsule and opened in 2126. How incredible is that?!

We also heard from Mayor David Holt, city leaders, and Cameron Eagle at @inkranchinc , the Oklahoma artist whose winning design became this iconic boot.

A huge congratulations to our friend Jim and the team at @gssignservices for bringing this massive project to life. Building something this size that can withstand Oklahoma winds is an engineering accomplishment all by itself.

And this is just the beginning…
We’re working with the city on what we hope will become another unforgettable Route 66 moment:

🥁The Red Boot Brigade🥁

We’re inviting Oklahoma women from across the state to grab a pair of red boots and join us for a history-making group photo at the boot. We’ll capture an aerial image of hundreds of women in red boots, and that photograph will also be placed inside the time capsule to be opened 100 years from now.

City officials have taken notice and the date is still being finalized, but excitement is already building. If you want to be part of it, let me know below or send me a message. And you might want to buy your red boots now… something tells me Oklahoma’s boot stores are about to get very busy. ❤️👢

Introducing ‘Kicks 66’, a towering 35-foot sculpture that celebrates the history of Route 66! 🛣️❤️

This iconic piece, which is now the LARGEST boot in the world, is located in the east parking lot of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, 1700 NE 63rd. Designed by Oklahoma artists Cameron Eagle and his son Daniel, this giant red cowboy boot honors the centennial of Route 66. Beyond its artistic significance, it reflects the family’s deep roots in Oklahoma, as Cameron’s grandfather helped build Route 66!

As the newest attraction at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, ‘Kicks 66’ invites visitors to relive the nostalgia and adventure of the Mother Road while serving as a reminder of the iconic song that sings, ‘Oklahoma City looks mighty pretty!’ (and it sure does!) ✨

People can visit “Kicks 66” from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. year-round!
