✨ New Tattoo Appreciation ✨

Finally put the idea to fruition! For years, I have been wanting to have my mother’s and father’s handwritten I LOVE YOU permanently engraved into my skin. Two and a half weeks ago, I put the sketch together with help from my one of my closest friends, and made it happen.

Originally, the idea was to simply put their handwriting on my arm, but then I decided to add in the sunflower. The sunflower represents strength, the ability to persevere in harsh environments and remain standing tall despite challenges thrown at them 🌻

Whenever I’m struggling, I can look down at my arm and remind myself of the two people who supported me throughout my worst. The journey isn’t over yet, but it gets easier every day.

Day #2
As I’m getting older I’m starting to realize that my body wants to move but it’s limited, as an active individual I feel as if I should be able to move how I want to move but that isn’t always the case… eventually muscle memory will kick in and some of what I used to know will come into play but I also know that I was young and didn’t understand my body the way I do now, so hopefully moving forward I have much more success with the strength and knowledge that I’ve attained throughout the years. I almost forgot THIS is what it’s all about….. I can’t remember the last time I had such an amazing day filled with love and everything we love. Coming back home refills my cup. I remember why I love all the things I do. Nature, art, thrifting, antiques, music, coffee, laughs and memories is something my whole family has in common. Each of them a piece to my puzzle. ❤️

Today marked the 1 year anniversary of opening @thehive.artcollective
Truthfully, I never wanted to open my own tattoo shop. I’ve always wanted to be able to up and go wherever I wanted without the worry of having to pay for a space while I’m out traveling.
With that being said, more importantly, I also didn’t like the mental abuse coworkers can put on you without repercussions/consequences from shop owners.
I needed to be in a place where my artistic ability would create my value. If I wasn’t by my brother’s (@inkslingin_a.d ) side at @inkhouse_203, I needed to be on my own.
The old saying is true, “you never know what you have until you don’t have it anymore”.
My brother created a space for growth and that’s what I’m trying to do.
I’m grateful for all the people who have supported me along this journey, whether it be moral support, helping with getting the shop up and going, or coming in and sharing conversations and getting tattooed by me.
Cheers to another year full of memories!
