There is nothing like the support of STRIKERS 💥
When three Strikers have an exhibition on in Sunderland the rest of the gang are there to support 🎉 There are always some creative photos, some unintentional, some that just happen as the creative energy can’t stay contained 😂

That’s a wrap on ‘Highs and Lows, Like Everything in Life’ @movinggallerysunderland
Thank you to everyone who came to see it and for those that missed it, here is a unique tour of the work 😂
We really had fun making this and planning working together so I had to try something fun in between visitors in the gallery! 😆 If you did or didn’t get to see the show I hope you enjoy this dance around the pieces.
Dream team, Maria Cooper @from.cooper.studio and Ruth Flowers @inky_makes , you will be seeing more of our work together for sure!
Happy Monday 🌞

OWTSIDE #5 is here! 🏠 Local residents around Community House, #Peterlee can now enjoy public art via the OWTSIDE micro-gallery in the heart of this proud area.

We're thrilled that artist Ruth Flowers @inky_makes has selected 4 works for exhibition to everyone passing the busy crossroads on Yoden Road, East Durham;

- Prepared to be Surprised, 2026.
- Detritus, 2025.
- Gristle, 2025.
- Oakerside Drive 1970s, 2023.

The works move between personal memory of the artist, local landscape, imagined nature and everyday affirmations. Although each work begins from a different subject, they share an interest in finding significance in ordinary places and experiences.

💬 Ruth Flowers said,

“Presented at OWTSIDE, the works sit within a context where art is encountered as part of daily life rather than something separate, distant or reserved for conventional gallery spaces.

“As a local artist I’m particularly chuffed to have my work be displayed this way, in a town that’s helped shape me and my outlook on the world. I feel the gallery’s borderless approach reflects the creative beginnings of Pasmore’s Peterlee, helping normalise contemporary art within the community, making room for local histories, familiar surroundings and personal forms of expression to be seen, valued and discussed.

😭 Can't make it IRL? Come this way to see the works in more detail and read Ruth's interview on the works via our website > LINK IN BIO 🔗 😍

(Not the official description but you can read that when you come in the gallery) There is some playfulness in the exhibition, you might be able to tell from these photos.
It’s been a dream team Maria Cooper @from.cooper.studio Ruth Flowers @inky_makes and me @nocciolathedrawer ( the others would say so too 😆 )

A year in the making - we have been planning, dreaming, playing, researching together since last September before we put on this exhibtion. We had time in Maria’s studio, a trip to Manchester, time at The Oriental Museum, a weekend in Norwich taking part in workshops with Japanese artists and visiting many exhibitions and eating sandwich’s with Paddington. Seeing what themes we wanted to explore together, what values are important to us as artists and how our work would sit together. We are so happy to invite you to see our work @movinggallerysunderland and you better believe there is more to come! Come and see the exhibition’Highs and lows, like everything in life.’ It open from today until Sunday!

#IWD2026 throwback to the amazing Nana's House project led by @inky_makes and co-curated by @zaraworth ✨

Nana’s House celebrated the position of women in a town named after a man.

A pop-up exhibition, but not in the traditional sense... Nana's House became a public living room in Peterlee, to rest, remember, and explore what happens when people are invited in to a comfortable space to reflect and think about the older women in our lives. 🥰

What else can we do in County Durham to bring to life the stories of the women who shaped us?
