There’s something so special about getting to do what you love every day. 🖤

Tattooing has given me so much more than just a creative outlet, it’s given me the opportunity to meet incredible artists, incredible people, hear their stories, be trusted with pieces of themselves, and create something that becomes a part of them forever.

I’m genuinely so grateful for every client who has ever sat in my chair, trusted my hands, shared their ideas with me, or simply allowed me to be a small part of their journey. Every tattoo teaches me something, every client leaves a little piece of themselves with me, and somehow I keep finding new reasons to fall in love with what I do.

Feeling especially grateful lately for this little life I’ve created around my art. 🥹✨

Here’s to the people, the art, the messy hands, the little victories, the amazing artists i get to work with, and all the beautiful tattoos still to come. 🖤

A big thank you to everyone who helped make Red Cross Smile Week even more special. 💙
This life-changing week was proudly supported by Vodacom Foundation, and we are so grateful to the wonderful partners who added extra joy and care along the way.
Thank you to @inky_slothee and Caitlin for the emoji photo booth painting, @flowercafe for the beautiful bouquets, @coimbrabakery for the cake, and @hirschs_homestores for the coffee pop-up.
Your kindness helped bring smiles, warmth and special moments to the children, families and teams at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. ✨

The response to this blew my mind! So good to see the side of the industry still willing to learn. All were welcome but the target market were tattooers who were open to exploring more of the craft.

Tattooing is so much more than what some might think. Thank you for joining! This was one was a one time only so if you missed it then you missed it. 🤷‍♀️👀 The point wasn’t to hand out priceless information to just anyone obviously. It was to expose a select few, who were keen to learn, to the beauty of what it means to be in this industry. A question I’ve been asking myself for a hot minute.

To those who showed up, I’ll leave you with this: Peace is following your gut always 🍎 Dr Dropshadow over and out! 🤓

Thanks for the drinks @culturelab_kombucha

Large scale tattoos require a different level of planning, vision, and collaboration between artist and client. From composition and flow to how the design works with the body, every detail matters when creating a piece at this scale.

In this edition, we explore how different artists approach large tattoo projects , breaking down the thought process behind designing, planning, and executing work that spans entire sections of the body.

Thinking about going big? Here’s what goes into creating a large scale tattoo.
