Been spoiled past few weeks working on some new cars.

Its a good break some times.....but boring at the same time not sure how you "detailers" find joy working on these new car preps 🤔 i feel brain dead. Back to regular programming next week.

Quick 2 step on this 2026 Toyota 4runner TRD Pro with the @oberkcarcare line, and protected with @cquartzfinest Finest Reserve.

What cuts more? Microfiber or Wool?

This is what I mean by Texture Reduction.

This is NOT what I consider a “full wetsand” or “orange peel removal.” Those terms get thrown around way too loosely these days.

Texture reduction is about reducing the texture to level out the surface and give it a better overall appearance.

Is it perfect? No.
Is it better? Yes. Great.

The price to start at 1000 grit to achieve a flatter surface was over budget on this project. With all the trim still on the car, it also made the process much more challenging.
There was heavy orange peel around all the trim, making it very time-consuming to get the block to butt right up to all the edges. The screws holding the trim in place were also pulling the sheet metal back, creating highs and lows and making it even harder to achieve a level surface.

So, we started at 1500 grit with a soft block and focused on leveling the surface just enough to achieve a smoother finish.
In the process, we also cut back the dye-back in the finish, bringing out the true colour and depth of the paint.

A month ago, we were wrapping up our Six-Year Anniversary Training.

This past weekend, we completed our final group class of 2026.

Thank you to every student, partner, and friend who helped make this year of training at Gloss University possible.
Now we’re looking ahead.

Our 2027 training schedule drops during SEMA Week, and we’re planning something we’ve never done before.

Take a close look around the shop… you might spot what’s coming next. 👀

While some think I’m too expensive for coatings and paint correction it’s good to keep in mind that I have spent years taking training courses with some of the most talented detailers in the industry to be able to produce these results.

I don’t cost too much, I’m just out of your budget and that’s ok. It’s not for everyone.

I do my best to tailor services to fit your needs and budget. If you want perfect paint you can’t expect you’re going pay a wash and wax price.

I have thousands of dollars worth of equipment; pads, polishes, polishers, correction lights, money spent in trainings, premium towels, professional grade coatings labor hours etc.

Yes, I’m not cheap. However, you will pick up your car ecstatic with the end results, no question. I am human, if I do miss something or there is a mistake, I own it and I fix it at no cost to you.

Or go to the other guy, maybe you’ll get lucky 😉

Looking for a tire dressing that just works? Solvent based dressings sling, dirt sticks like glue and just a pain to clean off when it’s time to redress the tire. Opt for a water based dressing which in my opinion offer professional results.

Check out @oberkcarcare Slick Shoes

This water based formula can be diluted to use inside and out. Use at 1:4 for treating interior leather/plastics exterior trim 1:3.

Final prep for @cobblebeachconcours this sunday! Can't wait to see this sitting on the greens.

Pleasure working on this highly preserved 1967 corvette L71 427 car. The ONLY red on red L71 with factory side pipes! Truly a 1 of 1 piece. Vehicle is original minus a respray documented in 1986. So that's 40 year old paint we are clearing up 😉
