Angela & Ryan’s Whidbey Island wedding

This one feels a little extra special because of how it all started.

My friend and hair girl Katie posted in a Seattle-based Facebook group looking for a couple to model for an engagement session while we were in Washington.

Angela & Ryan answered the call, we met for their session, and the rest is history.

Fast forward to getting to photograph their WEDDING on Whidbey Island. 🥹

These two are truly the kind of people who remind me why I love what I do. Kind, genuine, completely in love, and surrounded by people who adore them.

And Whidbey Island? Absolutely unreal. The Pacific Northwest scenery, towering trees, coastal views, moody skies and that quintessential Washington beauty made the entire day feel like something out of a movie. (Fun fact the original Practical Magic was filmed here.)

Getting to travel from Arizona to photograph love stories like this will never get old. More Washington weddings, please.

Pre-service looks a little different at the @innatlangley.

Thank you to everyone who has shown @passagelangley so much love since we opened. From our guests, to @nytimes including us on their Top 50 list, to the entire PNW for welcoming us into an already incredible culinary community.

It’s been a bit of a change of pace going from nearly a decade down a cobblestone alleyway in DC to an island in the Pacific Northwest, but at the end of the day, I still get to cook the way I would anywhere in the world and that’s pretty special.
