42 million people are about to go without food in the (un)United States of Amerika — TURTLE ISLAND Never stop taking about Palestine, the Congo, Sudan. How the US bailed out Argentina’s BS insanity for the cost of billions while they also attack Venezuela for oil, after years of coup attempts failed. The CIA has been filtering drugs from abroad to destabilize low income neighborhoods for decades; trading guns for drugs, shutting down protest movements & working class uprisings by drugging populations & then using the money to fund coups in whatever country the US wants to destabilize for resources. In a 2015 review by Mark Kermode for The Observer of the movie Kill The Messenger (Gary Webb’s story, the journalist who historically exposed with documented evidence how the CIA was trading guns for drugs with cartels & militant groups of Latin America to fuel coups in favor of US control, while agents distributed the cocaine into low-income neighborhoods, essentially creating the crack epidemic), there is a line that stands out in the ‘2 out of 5 stars’ hit piece.   “It’s sporadically gripping but ultimately rather frustrating fare, leaving us intrigued enough by the conspiracy-theory backstory to want hard documentary evidence rather than mere dramatic licence.”   This reflects editorial stances of “legacy” outlets like The Guardian, New York Times, & Washington Post — all of which attacked Webb in the late ’90s when his Dark Alliance series came out. These same outlets tried to destroy his reputation rather than engage with the documents, witness testimonies, or court records Webb published. Calling the work Webb died for a “conspiracy theory” remains a rhetorical move to protect institutional credibility, of which little remains. The CIA’s own internal inspector general’s report released in 1998 confirmed that U.S. intelligence was aware and in direct support of cocaine trafficking by Contra forces in Nicaragua in the 1980s, because their larger political mission (anti-communism) took precedence. “If we’re going to talk about the drug war, we have to talk about who it was really a war on. Not on drugs — on poor people.” – Gary Webb, Dark Alliance #snap

screenshots from the archives If Trump wins, the liberals I was once friends with will remember that this is bad. But honestly looking back a lot of y’all were neutral from the get go, and I’ve spent many many years feeling uncomfortable and limited in your presence. Liberation has to happen on every level, from the internal to the systemic. It includes liberation from forces that would silence you, wherever those forces are found.
