Officially one of the most special invitations I’ve ever received ❤️😭

On 12th November, I’ll be attending a special event at the House of Lords, celebrating @innersparkuk Bright Spark Council and the voices, confidence and aspirations of young people.

To have the opportunity to be there as an invited guest, witnessing and celebrating young people being given a voice on such an incredible platform, feels really special.

When I made the decision to step away from teaching @strivedanceacademy1 it was always about widening the work I was so passionate about and positively impact even more lives.

Supporting young people to believe in themselves, recognise their potential and discover what they’re capable of has always been something incredibly close to my heart. It’s not a job - it’s an integral part of who I am.

This invitation comes almost exactly a year since I stepped away from teaching and I can’t help but feel emotional in the significance of what has been quite a journey over the past 12 months.

To be part of an organisation creating opportunities like this for young people, and to have the privilege of witnessing those moments, makes my heart burst.

A very special invitation and one I’m incredibly grateful for 😭❤️✨

Words I never expected to hear from students and teachers. ❤️

Nearly 1,000 young people. One incredibly powerful day at @bedford_academy_bedford speaking on behalf of @innersparkuk

We had conversations that desperately need to happen in EVERY school.

Misogyny, Masculinity, Respect, Mental health, Self-worth Resilience.

Some uncomfortable conversations. But ones we simply cannot afford to avoid.

I wasn’t there to lecture these young people.

I was there to challenge their thinking and show them that REAL strength isn’t about power or control. It’s about courage, kindness and respect.

The messages I’ve received since about the impact of these talks have been incredible. ❤️

But here’s what I believe…

If we don’t teach young people what healthy masculinity looks like, someone else will teach them their version.

Our young people deserve better role models.

And sometimes, just ONE conversation can change the direction of a young person’s life.

I’ve been reflecting today on the last two years of my life…

And I realised something I probably don’t say enough.

I’m proud of myself. ❤️

Proud of the stages I’ve stood on, the thousands of people I’ve spoken to and, more importantly, the people I’ve hopefully helped to believe in themselves again.

For years, I searched for what success was supposed to look like.

Now I know.

For me, success is purpose.

Using everything I’ve been through — the pain, setbacks and lessons — to help and serve others.

But amongst all these memories are two people whose pride means more to me than any stage or applause ever could.

My mum and my son. ❤️

Mum, wherever you are, I hope you’re looking down thinking, “I’m proud of you, son.”

And to my son, I hope when you look at me, you see a dad who kept going, found his purpose and used his life to make a difference.

I hope you’re proud of me too. ❤️

I’ve found my purpose. And I’m only just getting started.
