Me and Casper the RT4WD swapped CRX won the 2026 @sccaofficial Rallycross National Championship! LFG!!! It was 3 day battle in Camp Verde AZ with some of the best Rallycross drivers in the country. This was the most competitive event I've attended in my career. Every run was a fight for tenths of a second and it all came down to the last day/ course where Michael started the day with a half second lead. After our first runs on Sunday, Michael extended the lead to 1 second. I thought it was over and decided to go for broke on my 2nd run gaining that half second back. But wait, there's hope? I took my 3rd run with the same mentality, and now have a tenth of a second lead! I see Michael finish his last and final run with a 26.8, while heading to the start line. I took my 4th run screaming at the top of my lungs saying "NOTHING TO LOSE!!!", and finished my run with a 26.4. ‼️PART 3️⃣‼️ Lots of wiring, lots of fun. It was “fun” updating the engine harness as I could see the trial and error in the original work done. I get it — internet info was as available in the early 00’s so it was word of mouth info or deciphering wiring diagrams in Honda service manuals (but I still do that today). Well, it was so outdated that I decided to start with a fresh engine hardness so I didn’t have to fix any mistakes and so I could trust my own work. So I pulled one from another ‘93 VTEC Prelude and started from scratch. Once the engine was mounted with @innovativemounts, I spent hours reworking the engine bay/chassis harness to remove the ABS plug and connectors, as well as re-loom and restore the harness to its OEM condition utilizing the original routing and all OEM clips. I also spent hours cleaning up the wiring at the ECU connectors. It was previously invaded by the Apexi VFAC solder connections. Followed that up with checking continuity to all my sensor connectors at the engine harness and we were good to go (I’m make this all sound so simple — it was not). Other things like the fuel tank and fuel pump were addressed. The tank was removed and cleaned on the inside, and a new fuel pump was installed. And finally, a custom radiator fan shroud made by @joshmcgirr to go with the @mishimoto radiator. They don’t provide a shroud for the 4th gen Prelude, and even if they did, it wouldn’t fit with a stock subframe. So we ordered up some fans and Josh killed it making this shroud from scratch! He’s also responsible for the engine bay paint work. 👌🏾 Stay tuned for Part 4!
