3 Things to know before cutting curly hair

🧡 Have you ever noticed your hair when it's wet? How long it is in comparison to when it’s dry? This is due to the weight of the water, as curly hair loves moisture, it stretches out the curls in the hair. So we are extra careful when taking length off. As 1 inch can look like 2 when dried.

🧡 Did you know we all have our own unique hair growth patterns, just like our finger prints? We look closely at this when requesting styles such as bangs, how this may or may not be possible and for finding alternative options.

🧡 Ever use the phase spaniel ears when describing your locks? As much as we love dogs 🐶 at Asteria we don’t want to look like them. Discussing different ways of layering the hair could do great wonders for the shape of your curls.

My beautiful client Devi came in with gorgeous long hair that had a bit of a wave to it. After texturising layers and some @insightprofessionalofficial curl cream this is what her hair looks like after a swim in the pool, quick wash and off to work. Before phốt was super last minute 😅🤦‍♀️

Sun, salt and humidity are hard on color here on the coast. In my new blog post I share the habits that keep it fresh longer: how to wash, what to do on beach days, extra care for vivid shades, and how blondes stay cool instead of brassy.

I also share the two INsight lines I trust: Blonde Cold Reflections for blondes, and Antioxidant to protect every color from the sun and sea.

Swipe through, then read the full article.
