My Feelings Were Real. But Were They Telling the Whole Truth?

Of all the moments I photographed at Story Into Profit Live in Fort Lauderdale, one simple pair of glasses stayed with me.

Founder Andy Henriquez asked us to look at the same screen through two different lenses.

One revealed “DATA.”

The other revealed “DRAMA.”

The screen never changed.

Our view did.

That made me check myself.

How many times have I allowed fear, frustration, or an old hurt to fill in what I did not understand?

My feelings are real—but they may not be telling me the full story.

My BIG Takeaway: Before I react, I need to pause and ask: Am I responding to what happened—or to the story I created about it?

Where in your life might a pause help you see more clearly?

Because one story, told the right way, can change everything.

Man, it’s the little things!

So during our pre-con meeting for SIP LIVE, they asked us about some of the things we liked.

Well, apparently somebody was taking notes!

Look at what the hotel team had waiting for us in the room!

And with it being our anniversary weekend too, that made it even more special.

Of course, I had to show my wife… but I needed her to back up and make her entrance again first!

Seriously though, that was such a thoughtful gesture.

Three days at Story Into Profit Live, and I’m heading home with a full notebook, new connections, and even more ideas! 🙌

It was great being back at my coach Andy Henriquez’s annual event. I had the honor of speaking here last year, so getting to come back this time, learn, connect with so many visionaries and entrepreneurs, and start some new collaborations made it extra special.

I say it all the time: investing in yourself and your knowledge and putting yourself in rooms with people who inspire you is one of the keys to success.

Grateful I got to be there. Already looking forward to the next one!

Happy 12th anniversary, babe! ❤️

12 years ago today, we were in Mexico surrounded by 80+ of our closest friends and family, celebrating the beginning of this journey together.

And here we are, 12 years later, still doing life, building dreams, and showing up for each other.

What’s crazy is that we just wrapped up TWO back-to-back conferences. Hers last week, mine yesterday!

And through it all, one of the things I’m most grateful for is having a wife who doesn’t just support what I’m building, but has her own dreams and vision that I get to support too.

We’ve built a lot of memories over these 12 years, and I know there’s so much more ahead of us.

Happy 12th anniversary, babe! ❤️

I love you, and I’m grateful I get to keep doing life with you.

Here’s to the next chapter of US!

Day 3 takeaways from the IP audit:
1. Audit every name you use, because your business, signature service, product, newsletter, event, stage name, tagline, and series titles can all be trademarked.
2. Think of a trademark as an asset that earns, since it can be licensed, franchised, partnered, certified, sponsored, or put on merchandise.
3. File early, because a forced rebrand adds legal fees to the cost of redoing your name, website, materials, and audience recognition, and the total can climb past $100K.
Tip: a single book title doesn’t qualify on its own. A second book or a workbook makes it a series.

Learned a lot of gems about building success without losing on what matters.

It was great to see their interaction and they dropped some powerful gems on how to maintain a loving marriage while supporting each other separate businesses.
