I’m pretty sure this is the greatest 1 minute and 45 seconds of skiing I’ve ever experienced. For most of us, skiing untouched powder is one of those super rare things that only come around once in a blue moon. Glad I finally got a chance to experience it.

Great skiing today @pcski

Dropping in from the top of a mountain can be terrifying. It's kind of like cliff jumping into the ocean - you've just got to make the plunge. The longer you think about it, the more you'll psych yourself out.

I hope you all enjoy this compilation from Mammoth - we had really great weather and it was such a fun time. Normally on a ski lift you can feel quite high but there was so much snow that the ski lifts were half buried in it.

Another amazing day of skiing @mammothmountain

It was my last run of the day, so I took the gondola up to catch some sweet views of the Sierras. For the most part it was a pretty chill ridge line descent.

Hope you all enjoy this video :)

I hope you all enjoy this compilation from skiing @coppermtn. I had an amazing time :)

I never realized how much effort goes into making videos. Typically, a photo I'll post will take 5 minutes to edit. This video took me 5 hours!

The music is Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) by the Arcade Fire.

Just got back from @coppermtn, what a place! Here’s my favorite clip from my time there. Managed to catch some fresh pow and hit the woods.

A few tips for skiing the woods if you’re trying to get into it in no particular order of importance:

1. Don’t chase the powder around the trees - it’s sometimes the only powder that’s not skied off - it’s like that for a reason - if you get too close to the trees, you can fall into a tree well, which are really tough to dig out of by yourself and can be life threatening.

2. Always stay at a speed you feel in control. This might seem obvious, but is easy to forget. If you’re not in control, figure out a way to slow down and or bail. Falling is acceptable. Crashing into a tree because you’re going too fast to turn is not.

3. Pick your moves ahead of time. The trees are way easier if you know what you’re going to do three moves ahead.

4. Don’t go in the woods if it’s icey (sorry east coasters).

5. The moment you start getting tired, get out of the woods. I made this my last tree run that day because I was getting tired - you can notice in some of my turns and the fall at the end. Tired skiing is sloppy, sloppy skiing is when you start losing control, and losing control in the woods can be deadly.

That’s it! Hope you all enjoyed this.
