One thing I’ve learnt from. Unfortunately for listening🙄is that if you train either for yourself, competition, fun whatever, as women carrying muscle you’ll get the odd social media gremlin who usually isn’t following you or knows of you, commenting.
Usually saying how women with muscle look manly.
Now I don’t know about you.
But to build muscles takes months/years of f!#king hardwork dedication willpower & sacrafice. Women who carry muscle scream out. I care about myself. I’m committed. I’m not weak. I don’t make excuses. I don’t care about others opinions. I love myself.
The negative comments happen as our strength highlights their weaknesses.
Last year I had someone say who’d wanna be with a woman who looks like a man?! And it got to me that bad I went down to 40kg at start of year. I was so worried & conscious about looking masculine. It’s took a long time but I’ve got over it. Realising when insecure, lollipop looking men are insecure they’ll try & put women down. To make themselves feel masculine.
All I’ll say now is seeing how a lot of men choose to look. Carrying muscle & being lean isn’t a ‘manly’ image 🤣
Strange world we live in.
To all my women who are strong & muscular.
Well done.
Proud of you🙏🏽💪🏼

ENDURANCE ATHLETE PREPPING 16 DAYS FOR A BODYBUILDING SHOW: @dexafitny results
.
.
I am soooo freaking stoked about this! Honestly I was a little worried I would come in at 19-20% because I’m not as sallow in my face as the first time I did this. Truthfully your body looks different every time you pass through weights and percentages- it seems to me that the 3rd time you hit your lowest weight after a proper refeed is where you start really looking like a savage. The first few times you lean out you just kind of look like you’ve been THROUGH it
That’s why the cyclical nature of bodybuilding produces such insane results- but my lifestyle does also naturally call for that with shifts in training priority, volume, etc. It’s pretty sweet to see the same concept in different shades!

If this year has felt like an uphill battle, give yourself some grace.

Painful seasons aren’t a sign that you’re off track or falling behind…they are the quiet, uncomfortable moments where your true strength is built.

When life gets heavier, it’s usually because you’re expanding into a version of yourself that can hold more, handle more, and achieve more.

Growth forces you to shed old habits, old fears, and old mindsets, and that process is rarely easy. But the resistance you’re facing right now is forging a level of resilience, faith, and inner power that no easy season ever could.

You are not being broken down! you are being reshaped.

Trust that the pressure serves a purpose, keep your head up through the quiet grind, and know that lighter, brighter, and softer days are already on their way to you. Keep going. 🫶
