Dragged @seattlefoodieadventure around K-Town upon his visit to NYC! Had so much fun stuffing my face with this guy. Give him a follow if you’re looking for some awesome Seattle eats!

But I digress... we ended our night of non-stop eating with something sweet at @softbiteus from their new storefront! They started out serving their beautiful dessert soufflé pancakes by setting up booths at various events, most notably @japanfes - and through their stunning presentation and lovely flavors, they gained a lot of popularity in NYC, allowing them to open their first brick and mortar in K-Town!

Steve and I ordered a bunch of soufflé pancakes, along with his friend @joaniefowler - including Matcha, Ube, and Chocolate. The matcha will forever be my favorite, but all of their menu items are wonderful. Including the drinks! Ordered the Orange Mocha, and oh my god... 🤤

But back to the pancakes! To be honest, I didn’t care for the eggy flavor of the soufflé pancakes the first couple times I tried it, I think mostly because I was expecting the flavor of a traditional pancake. This is exactly why it’s important when trying new foods, not to go in with pre-conceived notions of what it should taste like, especially when it’s something new or different from what you’re accustomed to.

Soufflé pancakes were first made popular in Japan - and to compare them to pancakes we’ve grown up with in America will only leave you with false expectations. So upon trying it again, and leaving my inclinations behind, I really began to appreciate the unique flavor and airy texture. And now... I think I kind of love them. 😆
