You can’t pour out of an empty cup!☕️💡🤍

Out of the many things I learned this past year one big one is that I’ve poured way too much out without getting it refilled. It’s a huge battle for me to take time for
myself + not be in constant pursuit of pleasing people.
I LOVE LOVING PEOPLE, but I can only love to a certain extent if I empty all I have to give.
BUT EVEN MORE IMPORTANT… ❕❕

My cup has to be filled up by Jesus, not by things of this world. I let him fill my cup because He is constant, He will not fail me, He always has my best interest, He loves me unconditionally.

If I let the things of this world fill me I will always be disappointed, be left needing more, be lacking. I can’t expect humans to ever fill me up the way I need to be, that’s too much pressure to put on imperfect people.

When I am empty I evaluate how much time I’ve spent with Him + always it reflects. The more I make intentional time for me & Jesus the more my cup is full and ready to pour out!

That’s why I can go and love others even when they don’t show me that same love// and reach out to others even when they don’t reach out to me// encourage others even when I don’t get encouraged// my love for people is not based on circumstance because His love for me is not circumstantial. I desire to love like Jesus & to do so means I have to learn more and more what His love is for me.
