And just like that… our Fairy Week came to an end. 🧚‍♀️✨

Five days filled with little letters, magical missions, nature, sensory play, creativity, discoveries and so many tiny moments of wonder.

From the mysterious fairy door to our final Fairy Tea Party, our little ones followed the magic every step of the way — creating, exploring, imagining and experiencing it all together. 🌿🌸

For the 7th year, we were so happy to be part of the @internationalfairytparty and this beautiful celebration of childhood, imagination and play. ✨

A very special thank you to Suzanne Axelsson @interactionimagination , the heart behind the International Fairy Tea Party, for creating something that continues to inspire children and educators around the world year after year. 💛

Thank you for reminding us to make space for wonder, imagination, nature and, of course… a little bit of magic. 🧚‍♀️✨

Until next year…

The tiny door may close, but the magic stays with us. ✨

Our littlest fairies joined the magic too… 🧚‍♀️✨

Through sensory play, our babies explored fairy dough, a little sparkle and treasures from nature — touching, squishing, discovering and creating with their tiny hands. 🌿

And because every little fairy needs one… they created their very own magic wands too. 🪄

A Fairy Tea Party experience made especially for our tiniest explorers. 🤍

Day 4 of our Fairy Week ✨

One more letter arrived… 💌
And this time, our fairy had a very special request.

So our little helpers got to work!

We poured, mixed and stirred, preparing something special for our Fairy Tea Party. 🥣✨

Everything is almost ready.

To be continued… 💌

Maybe magic has always been there 🍄🧚

Day 3 of our Fairy Week ✨

Our Fairy Garden had its colours, its tiny homes and all the little treasures we had created…

But something was still missing.

The magic. 🧚‍♀️

So Mission #3 began: Find the magic.✨

We searched for it in colours, bubbles and little experiments — exploring, wondering, observing and discovering along the way. 🌈🫧

And somewhere between all the curiosity, excitement and tiny “wow” moments, we realised…

the magic was everywhere.✨

Mission #3 complete. ✓

One step closer to our Fairy Tea Party… 🧚‍♀️🌿

To be continued. 💌

Day 2 of our Fairy Week 🌿✨

Today, nature became our fairy workshop.

Flowers turned into magical wands, fragrant herbs into little crowns, and treasures from our garden found their way into tiny homes for our fairy friends. 🌸🏡

Little hands explored, touched, smelled, chose and created — discovering that sometimes, the most magical things are already growing all around us. 🍃

✨ Mission #2 complete.

Our Fairy Garden is slowly coming to life…
but the story isn’t over yet. 🧚‍♀️

To be continued… 💌

✨ 7 years of fairy magic at Playland! 🧚‍♀️ @internationalfairytparty

For the 7th year, Playland is taking part in the International Fairy Tea Party — a worldwide celebration of childhood, imagination, nature and creative play. 🌿

This year, the magic lasts a little longer…
A whole week of little missions, discoveries and surprises. ✨

And it all began with a tiny door that mysteriously appeared in our garden… and a very special letter. 💌

Our Fairy Garden had lost its colours, so our little explorers were given their very first mission:
🎨 Mission #1: Bring the colours back.

One painted stone at a time, the magic has begun… 🧚‍♀️✨
To be continued.

The Rooted in Play Circle is open!

Over the past seven years, we’ve learned from some incredibly generous people and gone down more play rabbit holes than we can count. Somewhere along the way, people started asking where they could keep learning after a workshop or popup, or how they could create more opportunities for play in their own communities.

We realized we wanted that place too.

Somewhere our local community could stay connected between the times we get to be together. Somewhere we could share the things that have shaped our thinking and keep learning alongside other people who care about this stuff too. So we made the Rooted in Play Circle.

And it’s completely FREE.

Maybe you’ve been to every popup. Maybe you live 1,000 miles away and have never met us. Maybe you stumbled onto our account because you googled “why don’t children play outside anymore?” at 11 p.m.

You’re welcome there.

Want in? Comment “CIRCLE” below and we’ll send you an invitation to join. Come find your people.

New episode of The Curious Educator Conversations is live. This week I chatted with Cathy Belgrave.

She's spent 25 years in early childhood and elementary classrooms, and this conversation felt like a warm blanket.

We talked about play as a form of collective autonomy. About what it means when educator voice gets treated as a nice-to-have instead of the thing that holds a program together. About the slow work of building a team that trusts each other enough to disagree well.

This booklist highlights all the thinkers we explored in our conversation. @interactionimagination @parkerjpalmer @pamokenwright
