Nomad Photo Series (LHOOQ Edition)

Entry #14

Post apocalyptic chess games was the theme of these quick shots, and amidst everything going on in the world and Lhooq being closed, I thought it seemed fitting. On another note, its ok to put your phone down for a while (or a long while), disconnect, and just read a book or play some chess.

At our core we have always been a family business. I genuine independent, “Mom & Pop” store, literally!?! I can’t help smiling when I say that. I still feel like a child myself!?! But that’s a positive thing. I enjoy my life. I’m so proud of what we have accomplished! Even when faced with difficult times, we stayed true to our cause and always helped, gave & supported the cause. I may have experienced a lot and have wisdom to share, but I know I still have, and always will have so much more to learn and experience. But I digress. Our Social Enterprise & Nonprofit Project was not built and run by us alone. (PLEASE SWIPE RIGHT➡️) The younger kids who have put their own hearts and souls into this place have influenced the course of our cause & practices. Lhooqxrealism continuely evolves because we evolve. Because we listen to and respect our crew. Now my family & I are setting off on a new adventure. A part of us remains here. Not just a feeling, we are working with our friends, who have become part of our family to help them continue in the name of Lhooq Books! Marina, Jack and I will be more active than ever, working side by side in our new space & online while we raise our family and help each other with our creative careers. I’m so thankful for my dear family and our children of the cause. They inspire me! Living proof we never die! The ideas & ideals we started with continue in the hearts, minds, souls and creations of all those we call “our family”!
There is no sadness here, because the adventure continues and our love & unity is stronger than ever! Love to my wife, Marina Christopher, love to my son, Jack Christopher. And love to all the special people who are the “Lhooqxrealism Family” you know who you are! #lhooqbooks #theexrealismproject @exrealism #bookstore #notjustabookstore #artist #activist #venue #culturehub #gallery #thinktank #proactive #DIY & #free #freedomofexpression #freetoexpressyourself #community #love #family #evolve #learn #teach #wisdom #explore #adventure #ideals #idealism #ideas #knowledgeispower #radicalactividmforpositivechange @lhooqbooks @exrealism #supporthecauseandthecausewillsupportyou

A day in the life! Yup, my mom stops by almost everyday during her routine walk! It’s one of the things I love about being in my hometown. Already #rebuilding #makeitbetter This seems like a good time to introduce the date we have committed to our first Town Hall Meeting! We’ve been told that my message of what we are doing next or what’s going to happen next has been vague?! Well, that’s true. . .
But the reason is we have some options, but how or even when we are going to get there has been difficult. There hasn’t been a clear path put before us and I can’t express how much I’ve searched & researched our options. So before we commit 100% we want, no we need your input. So for anyone who truly wants us to carry on and evolve and be part of the process, we are holding our first #townhall #meeting at #Lhooqbooks Thursday after next. Feb. 27th 2020. We’ll make a formal event, etc and promote this properly, but just a heads up that we are doing this. We want real life, person to person interaction & communication. We will have literature from proposals & business plans. But we want your input and we want to share exactly what we are dealing with. #nextthursday #savelhooqbooks #carlsbadvillage #sandiego #northcountysandiego #arts #culture #history #culturalpreservation #socialenterprise #nonprofit #exrealismproject #protectyourcommunity #supportindependentartists #smallbusiness #ourrcommunity #gallery #venue #culturehub #interaction #communication #unity #evolution #spreadtheword
