Bring your fiddle, your banjo — 🎶whatever instrument that can easily travel!🎵— and join in the Bluegrass Jam, part of the second annual GREENWAY STOMP at Greenway Botanical Garden! This Saturday, Oct 17, from 11AM to 3PM. FREE to all.

All are invited to our 🍁 fall festival with family-friendly activities, a children’s costume parade, and more. Last year, the boardwalk came alive with the sound of a true impromptu jam, with anchor musicians @oneptwoz @camandolin welcoming an incredible turnout of folks from across the borough and the city. All united in the spirit of community and the joy that music brings. No requirements to participate beyond providing your own instrument!

What else awaits at Greenway Stomp?

🎃 COSTUMES! Get in the spirit of the season ... with a botanical garden twist! Dress as your favorite pollinator or other nature-themed costume and strut along the boardwalk at Greenway Botanical Garden. Think: bats, bees, butterflies, moths, and more! Adults, that means you, too!

🐞 LEARNING! We’re thrilled to include Interspecies Library: Zine Assembly (ILZA), a traveling branch of @interspecieslibrary , in Greenway Stomp. Flip through zines from artists and researchers that celebrate multi-species kinship. @bklynlibrary @fieldmeridians will also have tables/activity stations at the event!

Making your way to the Garden and Greenway Stomp via the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway (great idea!)? Secure bike parking will be available. Greenway Stomp is sponsored by Orenda.

This summer, @nonhuman.teachers invited us to share the Interspecies Library: Zine Assembly [ILZA]. It will be out for its final event of the season at HORT/CULTURE 2026 tonight in NYC, 9.23.26 from 7-9 PM.

This zine library was built through many hands and much generosity over the last year and some change. Grateful to @interspecieslibrary for your trust, and to a team of my favorite people @3000000000am, @freeparking, Kenia Viezcas, @bluesprucewanderings, Joe Valle and everyone who has helped carry ILZA into being.

The website is now live with upcoming fall dates!

Join us at CUE on Saturday, 9/19, the eve of Climate Week NYC, for a day of curated selects with Interspecies Library (@interspecieslibrary). ✨

Founder Oscar Salguero (@softcoreny) will bring a selection of artists’ books to CUE, and visitors are invited to browse, chat, and hang out in the gallery. The selection explores speculative geological, oceanic, vegetal, and animal relationships, in conversation with the themes and concepts of Mari Nagem’s (@mari_nagem) solo show, “The Tropics, The Moon, and Mars.”

At 5 pm, join us for a presentation and happy hour, during which Salguero will share more about the library and the curated selection.

Interspecies Library is the first archive dedicated to the curation and advancement of artists’ books focused on alternative interspecies futures. The growing collection aspires to reflect our changing attitudes toward and in acknowledgment of more-than-human worlds.

All are welcome to come and go throughout the day. RSVP is appreciated but not required; see link in bio.

(And come back on 9/22 for Space Meal with @tessitanyc during the final week of the show!)

It’s arrived! The Doocots of Moray book is officially a book in real physical form 🤯🫣😅

A fieldguide, an exploration of the more-than-human, of the way we house birds and our relationship to them. A response to the a book written in 1978 in Moray of the 25 Doocots (Dovecots). It’s been a labour of love and a wonderful journey.

It couldn’t have come to fruition without @histenvscot 🙏🏼

You can pre-order the copy, shipping in a few weeks! 🤩 link in my bio 🐦 Please share with fellow bird lovers and people who might like this small book! 📕
