Beat-matching using your ears – but in virtual reality.

Using Tribe XR, we’ve loaded up a track on Deck 2, covered the BPM and changed the tempo so we don’t know what it is.

Over on Deck 1, we’re using the CUE button to listen to the incoming track to work out if the tempo matches up.

Using the pitch slider and jogwheels of the Virtual CDJ-3000X, we can align the beats using our ears before bringing in the track.

Beat-matching with your ears requires plenty of patience, but when you get it right, there’s no better feeling.

Will you try this out yourself? Let us know how you find it.

Getting started with DJing in VR is easier than you’d think.

This video breaks it down into 5 simple steps – from setting up Tribe XR to loading your first tracks and getting a feel for the gear.

If you’ve been putting it off because it seemed complicated, this should clear that up.

If you’ve ever been curious about DJing but don’t have access to the gear, this is worth knowing about.

Tribe XR is a VR app that lets you get hands-on with AlphaTheta / Pioneer DJ equipment; CDJ-3000s, mixers, and controllers – without needing a studio.

You can join live workshops, load your own tracks, and even stream sets when you’re feeling ready.

Available on Meta Quest and Steam.
