The AAARCC's Lion Dance team and Dragon Dance volunteers performed at Global Fest, a collaborative event presented by the City of West Lafayette, International Center, and Purdue Convocations. 🎉
We performed three parades at 4:45, 5:45, and 7 pm, offering opportunities for attendees to learn about lion dance traditions that symbolize the sharing joy and luck during celebrations.🧧

Fest attendees interacted and took photos with the lion and dragon as they move along the streets with a live drum accompaniment.🦁 The dragon dance was performed by Friends and Volunteers of the AAARCC who shared part of their weekend with us.🐉 Thank you so much, volunteers! Special thank you to the West Lafayette Public Library for generously hosting our preparation at their facility, and Librarian Ashley Fletcher and team for all the help!

✨️The AAARCC's Lion dance team was formed in 2020 to share and learn about this tradition performed in many Asian and Asian American communities.

📩 Are you a @purduestudents interested in joining the Lion dance team, or campus and community partners interested in inviting the team to perform? Email us at aaarcc@purdue.edu to be connected with the team.

Dear Purdue, gear up for some homely Bengali chicken rolls and fish fries at West Lafayette! 😋

Yes, you read that right - and we'll be here with the food at the Global Fest on Saturday (September 19).

And now more than ever, we need volunteers too - so if you're free, come down on Friday and Saturday to help us prepare the mouthwatering delicacies and with the overall logistics of the fest stall.

Join the WhatsApp group at the link in our bio to sign up for volunteering!

Location: Near West Lafayette Public Library
Date: September 19
Time: 5pm onwards

P. S. What's on the menu this Saturday is on the poster too. No bluffs 😉

🌍 Coming Together for an Unforgettable IEW 2025!

From November 17–22, Purdue University in West Lafayette and Indianapolis hosted 50+ events that brought together students, scholars, faculty, staff, and community partners in a shared celebration of global learning, connection, and global impact.

This year’s IEW offered a dynamic mix of experiences—study abroad fairs, global learning workshops, cultural showcases and performances, language tables, film screenings, community conversations, professional development sessions, global games, and social events—all highlighting the many ways Boilermakers explore, engage with, and contribute to our global community.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible collaboration across colleges, departments, cultural centers, student organizations, and community partners. Thank you for creating meaningful spaces for curiosity, cultural exchange, and global engagement.

Global Fest 2025 was a success! 💛💙❤️
This year, CSAP brought the flavors of Colombia with empanadas, lulo juice, arroz con leche, and tapioca drink.

✨ Thanks to our amazing volunteers, we prepared over 500 empanadas — and sold out everything! 🙌

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and supported us. We’re so grateful to share a little piece of our culture with the Purdue and Lafayette community. 🌎🇨🇴
