There are moments as an instructor that remind you why you teach, and tonight is one of those moments.

A black belt is not earned in a day, a month, or even a year. It is forged through sacrifice, discipline, perseverance, and the courage to keep showing up when the journey becomes difficult.

Today, I have the honor of congratulating two extraordinary students:

🥋 Ms. Chris — after 5 years of dedication, determination, and unwavering commitment, you have earned your Jeet Kune Do Black Belt.

🥋 Xavier — after 4 years of hard work, growth, and resilience, you have reached this incredible milestone and earned your Jeet Kune Do Black Belt.

I have witnessed your struggles, your victories, your moments of doubt, and your decision to never give up. That is the true meaning of a black belt—not perfection, but perseverance.

As your instructor, I could not be prouder. Your belts represent far more than martial arts skill; they represent character, heart, and an indomitable spirit.

Today, you join a small group of individuals who chose the harder path and stayed the course.

Congratulations, Ms. Chris and Xavier. Wear your black belts with pride, humility, and the responsibility to inspire those who will follow in your footsteps.

The journey doesn’t end here… it begins again.
