ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
★ Step into U4OPIA ★

U4OPIA — Mother of INVOXEA — is a Meanjin/Naarm-based Entity of Light: brash, raw, and abrasive. When she’s behind the decks, all eyes lock onto her. She is the moment.

Weaving Hypertrance, Dariacore, SlutPop, Lightcore and beyond into one immersive experience — expect to be HOOKED… no shade.
☣︎
High-energy, body-and-brain stimulation from start to finish. Her visual world is as striking as her silhouette, shaping Meanjin’s underground through INVOXEA.

Having travelled interstate, she’s supported Clair Bai, Bobby Beethoven, BAPARI and Neesha Alexander, played Celestia TWICE, and mixed live on the radio for Full of Air — building a growing presence across club nights, queer raves, and experimental dance floors.

She also invented Cybersigilism 🙉🙈🙉

arriving into this period in Berlin at @glogauair and sitting with the point where my body starts to feel like an object, and the object starts to feel a little too alive

these images are from a live work I presented in Brisbane earlier this year with @invoxea @udontkno_h3r
• a body beside its own remains
• a mannequin holding my outline
• bones as structural shedding

the music I’m working on keeps circling control, distortion, autonomy
what I’ve held together, how I’ve performed it, what I’ve somewhat brutally severed

over the next few months I’ll be expanding this into a larger body of work during the residency

I’ll be sharing more at open studios, 18 - 19 June
