🎬 DIA 1 // DAY 1 🎬

—

Full rooms, conversations that continued long after the credits rolled, filmmakers sharing their creative processes, reunions in the corridors, long dinners, and cinema taking over the city late into the night.

Between the world premiere of Out There, Towards the End, the opening screening of Better Go Mad in the Wild, and the first conversations around territory, community, memory, and the future, FICS began exactly how we like it: with time to watch, listen, and simply be.

And this is only the beginning. 🌱

As part of Panorama 1 at FICS 2026, we screened the world premiere of Out There, Towards the End by Rui Inácio.

Over the course of a year in Culatra, the film follows a community shaped by isolation, hard work and the struggle for a dignified life. An intimate portrait of those who continue to claim the sea as home, livelihood and future.

After the screening, Rui Inácio joined the audience for a conversation about the filmmaking process, shooting on the island and the relationship built with the community over time.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this screening. ⚓
