Apparently the first step is switching it on… 😂🤦‍♂️

Our first proper project at the €52,000 Sicily house got off to a very professional start.

38 metres of fencing to clear and make safe… and we couldn’t even get the trimmer started. 😭🇮🇹

Coming from London, our instinct was to fill every bit of land at our new house in Sicily with plans. A vegetable garden, a yoga deck… always something. 🌿

WE BOUGHT THE HOUSE. 😳🇮🇹🏡❤️

After driving all the way from Sweden to Sicily, falling in love with this little corner of the island, and then coming back with a €30,000 house-hunting budget…

We somehow ended up buying the one house we couldn’t stop thinking about.

A 100-year-old Sicilian country house.
Sea and mountain views.
30+ olive trees.
An old donkey stable.
A pizza oven.
A LOT of potential.

And apparently… a lot more work than we remembered. 😂

The asking price was €65,000.
We paid €52,000.

And suddenly… I was on my own. 💔

After three weeks on the road together, driving all the way from Sweden to Sicily, sleeping in the same car, breaking down more times than we’d like to remember and experiencing one of the craziest adventures of our lives… it was time to say goodbye.

I dropped Ira at Palermo Airport and, for the first time since we left Sweden, the passenger seat was empty.

It felt much stranger than I expected. 🥺
