Howling at the moon that this season is coming to a close - (ONLY 7 MORE DATES!?) - what an honor to have watched this incredible cast and crew create magic every single show the last 9 months. I’ve grown so much as a creative and human since becoming part of the @companyxiv family - shoutout to @austinmccormickxiv for the artistic genius we get to witness day in and day out and for all the encouragement and opportunities for growth within such a special atmosphere 🐺🌘🥹

Cheers to a fabulous run 🥂 -to the many laughs, challenges, sparkles, and buns Petite Rouge has brought. If you haven’t seen it yet- YOU CRAZY. Also-DO IT. Final Bows October 31st 👻🌹✨

✨At Théâtre XIV, the glitter never settles. In fact, we launch over 240 pounds of confetti and glitter above audiences each year!

✨From showers of shimmer rained upon our singing sirens, to the classic confetti pop of the cancan climax- Petite Rouge offers “all the beloved hallmarks of a Company XIV show, but everything feels bigger, brighter, and somehow sexier,” says New York Theatre Guide.

🧨 Don’t miss the finale- Only EIGHT shows remain before Little Red dashes away! Petite Rouge must close Halloween! Head to the link in our bio to lock in your experience and share the shine ✨

I would never get tired of Boléro!

There is something about the way Ravel’s Boléro keeps building…repeating, growing, gathering energy, that always pulls me in. Every time I hear it, I feel movement.

When I created VORTEX, I was thinking about how we are constantly moving through life in relationship with one another. We influence each other, resist, surrender, connect, separate, and come together again.

A vortex is never still. Neither are we.

Creating this work for The Ailey/Fordham BFA Class of 2025 reminded me of the beauty of collective movement. Each dancer carries their own individuality and energy, but when they move together, something larger begins to emerge.

Perhaps that is what I love most about dance, how we can remain completely ourselves, yet become part of something greater together.

VORTEX

Choreography: PEIJU
Assistants: Irenie Melin & Thibaut Browns
Music: Maurice Ravel, Boléro
Costume: Kelly Grabowski
Performed by The Ailey/Fordham BFA Class of 2025

Might look light, but it’s heavy though…

There’s an honest exchange that happens when artists come together to work. Nerding out, getting lost in the craft, all of that brings a depth that you can’t fake. We teach that young around these parts!

Actually can you turn the heat on?
