☆ TO Fringe ‘26 ☆ That. Was. WOW! 17 performances 11 days 2 shows 1 giddy theatre kid who has a Spirit Of The Fringe Award above their bed These past 10 months have been the most exciting + challenging of my life. Many late nights, early mornings, smiles, crash-outs + SWEAT! WORTH IT! Getting to share these stories of theatre and friendship with audiences of different lived experiences is something I’ll never forget. @willsvinylshow began in 2022. I wanted to create a cabaret all about my love of musicals. There were 15 unfinished drafts on my desktop until last fall when I decided to write a full draft. From there, the story developed into what it is now. A story of hope and how we all have the power to overcome scary situations. @billybinkshow started as a pitch to Andrew over brunch. I wanted to create a story about friendship and communication, something we’ve lost post-pandemic. Especially with the rise of technology usage in children (which is scary btw). I’m so excited to bring this story to students with @roseneath in 2027. This all began because of an email labelled “Let’s Create Together”. Send the email. Always. You never know where it might lead. Finally, thank you SO MUCH to everyone who made these projects possible. From workshops, to Zoom calls, to rehearsals, to performance… WE did it. I can’t fully articulate my gratitude right now. First up, Iris Asserlind (they/them)! 💿 VINYL OF CHOICE: Graceland by Paul Simon Iris (they/them) is a queer, Toronto-based theatre artist, writer, stage manager, arts educator, and puppeteer. They are also the founder and Artistic Director of One Day Theatre Company.
