50 years of Iris von Arnim. And three lessons that go well beyond fashion for me.

I’ve known and looked up to Iris for years. Not just for the beautiful clothes she creates, but for the woman behind them.

Her story is one I find inspiring: the courage to start a business, the determination to follow her own instincts, and the curiosity and bravery to keep going, evolving and trying new things, even after 50 years.

Iris has always stayed true to herself, there is no doubt about that. She has never let anyone else define her path, and never lost that sense of play.

Which is such a great reminder that style, much like life, is about knowing who you are, having the courage to do things your way, staying curious and - most of all - remembering to have fun along the way!!

Happy 50th anniversary, Iris. Here’s to courage, curiosity, beautiful cashmere and never taking ourselves—or fashion—too seriously.

A sweater that turned a 1970s craze into a 50-year legacy. The Donna Rainbow Dégradé Sweater from @iris_von_arnim’s 50th Anniversary Capsule Collection, which was released on October 8th, reimagines the label’s iconic ombré rainbow knits in cashmere, as featured in @tmagazine’s The T List.

Some clothes have a season. The great ones have a story.

Fifty years ago, Iris von Arnim designed her first sweater—and changed the way her following thought about cashmere.

To celebrate 50 years, she has brought that very first design back. And now, it’s at Well Heeled.

I love this for so many reasons. The craftsmanship. The incredible cashmere. The fact that something designed in 1976 can feel completely right in 2026.

But mostly, I love what it says about clothes.

Great style doesn’t become dated. It becomes iconic.

This is exactly what we mean when we talk about a forever wardrobe—buy fewer things, buy extraordinary things, wear them, love them, and keep them.

Somewhere between Manhattan, Maine and the Hudson Valley. I’ve done a little timeline jump and everything looks a little different all of a sudden. But so pretty! I loved hosting an event @helmutlang and thankfully my new shearling looks equally at home upstate and the city. If you know me you know I never miss a boat. This was my first time in Maine and I love it. I also obviously never miss an antique market. Just a little photo journey.
