POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Honored and humbled, to say the very least.

Taking part in this premiere, helping to originate the role of Carleen alongside @logank_34 , and putting my heart into this show was a such an incredible learning experience, and a labor of love that I will never forget.

Playing Carleen was a such a privilege. To set myself in the shoes of a woman so lost in her faith that she was unable to see the most important commandment, to love thy neighbor, was such a surreal and difficult role to take on. I was instructed to refrain from playing Carleen as a villain, which is so much harder to do when every choice she makes hurts someone. She is the hero of her own story, and my job was to show that her hero’s journey, her individual triumphs, were shadowed by stigma, bias, and ignorance.

I hope those who watched her character feel prompted to love, and to inspire/foster change.

Thank you to @kristinconducts and dear @copelandwoodruff for your masterful instruction. Observing your individual and collective genius is such a privilege.
