Theatre of the moment in the moment 🎭

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The Santa Fe-based theatre collective The Exodus Ensemble make their NYC and UTR debuts with the intense and immersive ‘BATHSHEBA’. When you arrive at The Space at Irondale you’ll be quickly indoctrinated into the world of Sun Ranch, an insular community (or is it a cult?) led by the charismatic David King. You’re just in time to help the Ranch members select who among us will become the Bathsheba, the woman chosen to give birth to David’s child. This Biblical parable turned psychological thrill ride puts you in the middle of a struggle for power where one of the prizes is your survival. Recommended for fans of ‘Sleep No More’ and fully interactive theater, ‘BATHSHEBA’ will be the most unforgettable play you’ve ever taken part in. Tickets are free but you’ll need to sign up to join the list for limited entry - each performance is limited to 28 audience members only; link in bio to find out more.

★ BIG NEWS!! ★

Remember that really-cool-secret-thing involving something-about-NYC-and-January that we’ve been teasing?? WELL. THE WAIT IS OVER. THAT’S RIGHT! We’re taking this wild little immersive theater company YOU helped build all the way across the country because …

THE EXODUS ENSEMBLE HAS BEEN INVITED TO PERFORM AT THE UNDER THE RADAR FESTIVAL IN NEW YORK CITY!

Under the Radar is NYC’s major festival for innovative and daring theatre and performance. A longtime program of The Public Theatre, the three-week festival happens across the city in venues from The Public Theatre to BAM and The Park Avenue Armory. This year, Under the Radar will present Exodus’ BATHSHEBA alongside 30+ other experimental, multidisciplinary performances from around the world in a citywide celebration.

We’re bringing TWELVE ensemble members to NYC for nearly SIX WEEKS, from late December through January, where we’ll present 18 performances of our immersive production BATHSHEBA from January 6-24 at The Space at Irondale in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.

HOW YOU CAN HELP??
We’ve already raised $50,000, and we need to raise an additional $40,000 to bring the entire ensemble to New York. We want to share our work nationwide while keeping Santa Fe as our home base. If you believe in what we do and want to help us achieve our goals, please consider making a (tax-deductible) donation to Exodus (link in bio)!

HAVE A PLACE TO STAY?? We’re looking for housing for our artists December 20–January 28, within a 40-minute commute of Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Have a spare room, empty apartment, or lead? Email exodus@exodusensemble.com

What happens to a virtual world when its owners decide it is no longer worth keeping? In ‘[EOL]. End of Life’, selected for the 2025 Berliner Theatertreffen, the award-winning Vienna-based artist duo DARUM invites audiences into the ruins of a fictitious “Metaverse 1.0”. A major corporation dispatches participants into an abandoned digital landscape to assess what might still hold value, which worlds should be allowed to continue, and which should be permanently erased. Moving within a physical space only a dozen feet wide, participants individually explore this vast virtual world for echoes of bygone existences that seem to have developed lives of their own. Blurring the boundaries between physical and virtual experience, DARUM turns what begins as a corporate assignment into an unsettling encounter with memory, ownership, and the power to decide what gets to survive. This uniquely interactive theater experience is a trip unlike any you’ve ever taken.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Seventeen years together, and they’re still arguing over snails and turtles. Brilliant physical comedy, remarkable performances, and astonishing stagecraft turn this couple’s endless bickering into something funny and devastating.

Come backstage with us. You’re part of this opening night, too.

Today, we’re bringing you inside our opening ceremony, through the eyes (and phones) of the Arlekin team.

A little imperfect. A lot of love.
Thank you NYC!

After seeing Delirium at @irondaleensemble in Brooklyn NYC, acclaimed poet Vera Pavlova shared these words with @chulpanofficial:

“Don’t shell the cities.
Let people live a little in peace.”

Thank you 🤍 Dark blue production image from Delirium showing two frightened performers - Chulpan Khamatova and Andrey Burkovsky - crouching beneath a suspended mattress. White text reads: “A poem after Delirium. DON’T SHELL THE CITIES by Vera Pavlova.”
