Shop with Purpose. Find Something Great.

Looking for affordable treasures while making a real difference in your community? 🛍️✨
Check out Great Things in Store @parkerstreetfood — a thrift store that’s about so much more than shopping.

They offer a wide variety of items, including:
👕 Clothing
🪑 Furniture
🏺 Antiques
🏠 Small household appliances

Every single purchase helps fund the programs and operations of Parker Street Food & Furniture Bank.

That means when you shop there, you’re not just saving money — you’re helping support:
🍽️ Families facing food insecurity
🛏️ People in need of basic household furniture
🤝 Community programs that uplift local individuals and families

It’s sustainable, affordable, and deeply community-focused. Instead of big-box stores, choose a place where your dollars stay local and help your neighbors.

Thrift with heart. Shop with impact. Support Great Things in Store. ❤️

Thank you for making a difference!

Over the past few weeks, Holly’s Helps Hands has been collecting donations to create blessing bags for individuals in need. Last night, we were joined by generous friends, both in person and from afar who contributed items to help make a meaningful impact.

Together, we assembled over 100 blessing bags. Some were filled into stockings for Souls Harbour Mission, others into makeup bags and purses for women in shelters, and the remainder were distributed to a healing centre, Shelter Nova Scotia, local encampments, and food pantries. Each bag included a handwritten card, essential hygiene products, food, and small surprises to brighten someone’s day.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated, contributed, and supported this initiative. Your generosity made this project possible, and we look forward to continuing this tradition in the years ahead.

Halifax hearts helping Mauritian paws ❤️

During my trip back home 🇲🇺, I finally got to visit Indies World, the dog shelter that we’ve been fundraising for through Zilwa Foods in Nova Scotia 🇨🇦

Indies World opens its doors to abandoned, mistreated, sick and injured dogs—giving them food, shelter, medical care and most importantly, love. Their staff are there 24/7, supported by incredible volunteers. To see their dedication up close was the highlight of my trip.

Every napolitaine you’ve bought back in Halifax has been part of this journey —helping us send support to these babies who deserve safe, happy lives. And the work continues.

You can also support Indies World directly > All details are on their website: indiesworld.org/en/

We will continue fundraising for Indies World through our cookies-with more flavours to come. Thank you for helping us make a difference, one bite at a time!

Much Love 💛,
Zilwa Team

Never in my life did I think I’d see our business on a billboard… and that too in Canada!

I started Zilwa Foods after graduating from university, just as a little side hustle… and the way it’s unfolded is nothing short of a blessing.

Why do I say blessing? Because from day one, we’ve had the support of some truly amazing people 🙏🏽 There were low moments, moments of doubt and even online harassment and wild accusations from you-know-who but we did what we do best: level up!!

Looking back, it’s bittersweet. Every single challenge shaped us into who we are today and honestly… I wouldn’t change a thing.

@blkwomeninexcellence @itistiaupshaw — your value of leveraging others as you climb really resonates with me. I am beyond grateful to have met you, to have your support and most of all, to have received the knowledge and opportunities you’ve shared with us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts❤️

Guys, if there’s one thing I want you to take away from our journey, it’s this: START and keep going. Grab that opportunity. Do it nervous. Do it scared. Do it anyway.

Much love,
Irvana 💛

We cannot wait to be back!!!
