Day 3: Color + Design: Taught by @mark.eanes.studio offered through @madelineartschool in Santa Fe

This was the most difficult day for me. I struggled to see value in context with hue and saturation. HUGE thanks to Mark and Marija as they helped me through each step.

It was a wonderful opportunity as a student to feel that uncertainty and frustration of not “getting” something. To me, it felt like everyone else knew what was going on and for some reason I couldn’t connect my brain with my eyes!

I chatted with my new paint friends at lunch. Went back into our studio and worked some more. Got frustrated again.

Got coffee and a chat with @irvine_jane and @rtaylor_studio and sat in the sun for a bit.

Went back to work. Sorting, seeing, and gathering. Asking more questions. Listening. Cutting. Collaging.

At the end of today, I had some collections of papers for some of the assignments and two completed designs and definitely needed some rest!

Oliver raised the most money for his read-a-thon in the entire K-8th grade Stem Lab school! He also read for nearly 700 minutes over 4 weeks :)))

To say Oliver is proud would be an understatement! His class was awarded a party as well for being the top class in the school 🏫!

Everyone who supported helped him achieve a total of 1,490 dollars raised!

Huge thank you to everyone who showed this boy love ❤️!

This is my “road trip” get up. At the moment this photo was taken I’d been wearing this outfit for three days! From Illinois , thru an overnight in a smelly hotel in Kentucky to the beaches of South Carolina! My little bonus niece looked at me on the third morning and said.... how many days are you wearing that now?” BUT I must tell you, only minutes later, over the course of my 6 mile morning beach walk on the Isle of Palms, I had three lovely women tell me, as they walked by me.... “I like your dress” I’m just sayin! I only smelled a little and by some miracle I hadn’t dropped any cherry pits(that I’d been eatin’ for 48 hours straight) anywhere on my clothing! If you didn’t believe in miracles already, you absolutely should now! And everyone that has road tripped with me can attest to this!!!! #happytrails #floridaorbust #love #lovewins #beachlife #believeinmiracles

Our design days start early and our amazing team of peeps multi task like nobodies business! Here for example is our stylist/web designer/marketing guru/entertainer.... beginning the day with us by carrying/schlepping lemons/limes/coral peonies/hydrangeas/coffee, all while negotiating with small children on her phone ! We love how women are able to multi task and wear Adidas! All that beauty and braun and brains gets us turned on and motivated! #schlepper #stylist #design #goodmorning #adidas #staging
