«Je suis née avec le spina-bifida, une malformation de la colonne vertébrale et depuis que je suis jeune, je me déplace en fauteuil roulant. J’ai eu plus d’une trentaine de chirurgies dans ma vie; vous pouvez donc vous imaginer que j’ai plusieurs cicatrices, et que ma relation avec mon corps est un peu spéciale. « En partenariat avec l’entreprise Do sport de Trois-Rivières et de O’sijja SUP adapté qui promeut l’accessibilité au plan d’eau du Québec, la Classique internationale de canots de la Mauricie a contribué à l’acquisition d’un paddle board adapté pour les personnes avec un handicap physique. »
Des nouvelles dans le monde du SUP adapté dans un article sorti via @hebdojournal de St-Maurice.
Continuons de promouvoir ce beau sport accessible au plus grand nombre et contribuons tous à faire avancer l’accessibilité universelle.

My name is Isabelle Giard, I work as an Administrative Officer in a Rehabilitation Centre for the last 8 years. .
I love to be in an environment that helps people in all aspects to be as independent in the community as possible with the help of awesome professionals! .
I have Spina-Bifida, a birth defect that occurs when the spine and spinal cord dont’t form properly. I have had around 15 surgeries since birth and have been in a wheelchair since a young age. .
It hasn’t always been easy with accessibility & the looks of others when I was a kid and teenager. But that didn’t stop me! I have always been encouraged by my family to try anything I wanted like Scouts, adapted ski, even skating but that didn’t work out so much haha! .
Anything is possible you just need to go out and try! .
Recently I started a youtube channel Za roule (@zaroule1 ). I wish to inspire people and go beyond obstacles! .
🌱1. What word best describes you ? Resilient .
🌱2. What is your main source of inspiration in life? My mom

🌱3. What is your favorite activity/sport and Why? Crossfit because it pushes me out of my comfort zone

🌱4. Which other women inspire/motivate you and / or do you admire? @ljeanies @sylviemalenfant @karinegig because they are super fierce women with a huge heart and they have such an impact in my life!
