5.25.26 — a day that will forever be one of my favorites.

The day I said a three-letter word that took a step toward my forever future.

For many of you, especially those who live far away, you haven’t had the opportunity to meet my fiancé. Matt and I met at our small group back in September, and over the past several months he has shown me so many of the Upstate’s hidden gems and favorite local spots.

Through small group, we built a friendship centered around games, baked goods, community, and lots of conversations. From the very first conversation I had with Matt, I knew he was sincere and genuine. One of my favorite things about him is that when he’s talking with you, you have his full attention.

One thing that immediately stood out to me was his faithfulness to the local church. Matt has been a part of our church for more than 10 years and has remained committed through different seasons, transitions, and changes—not only within the church, but in his own life as well. His steady presence and commitment to his church family spoke volumes about his character long before we ever started dating.

As our relationship grew, one of the things that meant the most to me was seeing the way he loves Laynee. He has been so intentional about building a relationship with her, planning activities that she would enjoy, making her feel included, and investing in her in thoughtful ways. Watching their relationship grow has been one of the sweetest parts of this journey and has made me even more grateful for the man he is.

I’m so thankful for the way God has worked in both of our lives and brought us together. One of the greatest gifts throughout this season has been watching our families come together. Having both of our families around, getting to know one another, and supporting us along the way has been such a blessing and something we don’t take for granted.

I’m incredibly grateful for every person who has been a part of our story, cheering us on, praying for us, and celebrating alongside us.

We can’t wait for this next chapter.

THANK YOU 🎉 to the 140 people from all over our city that showed up this week to launch my campaign for Greenville City Council!
In my remarks I spoke about the necessity of convening people from all different corners of the city in order to impact our community in a way that EVERY neighborhood can thrive— while also tackling challenges our city faces as it grows. 🏡

Collaboration with county and state leadership is also critical. As such, I was honored to have elected officials present from both Greenville City and County, and also from both chambers of the SC State House. 🏛️
It has been a tremendous blessing to be a part of the Greenville community for almost 20 years and I couldn’t be more excited for its future!! 😃

Many thanks to @mayorwhite95 @wilbrasingtonforcitycouncil and @deworkenforgreenville for your service to our city and for your encouragement and support.
