One of the most consistent things in life is time. It keeps on moving whether we’re ready or not. Every moment good and bad gets put in front of us one way or another and sometimes the only thing you can do is slow it down yourself. Sit in the moment, take it in, and appreciate what’s still good. That’s how you get through the hard times.

Always keep creating. 🎥🌅

I’m selling my camera.

This is my Sony a6400. I bought it back in June 2024 with money I had saved up for years, all with the hope of chasing my creative passion. At the time I thought it was the next big step, and I was right. But I was also wrong, because I had no idea just how far it would actually take me.

I spent nearly two years saving up to buy this camera. In that same amount of time after making the purchase, I’ve ended up here. Because of this camera I started Shoener Productions, built a content agency, completed countless projects and hours of footage, taken over 20,000 photos, filmed a feature length documentary and multiple short films, traveled the world, and won awards at the state and national level. All because of a camera.

This camera got me to where I am today, and so did God. Only He knew where this would lead. It was an investment, but more than that, spending my life savings at the time forced me to use it constantly, and using it constantly showed me the gifts I’d been given. I’ve never been great at speaking or writing, but I can tell stories through film. This camera was always my outlet.

Every time I picked it up, I was learning through trial and error, creating something new, and growing. That’s part of what’s leading me to sell it now. In this new chapter, in a new city with new opportunities, I want to make another investment. Making that investment will push me to get better and get back to hands-on work, the same way I did the first time.

So make your investment too. Whatever that looks like for you, invest in yourself so you can grow at a rate the world can’t ignore. That’s my goal, and I believe this is one more step toward it.

I’ll miss my first camera, but I’m excited for the upgrade. I want to recognize where this one took me first. Without it, and without trusting God with it, I wouldn’t be here today.

Thank you.

“The Weight of Not Knowing”

This film has been months in the making. I wrote it in June, sitting with the fear that after two years of nothing but steps forward, stepping into college might be the first step back. I have built something real in this season of my life, and I did not know how to carry the weight of not knowing what came next. So I made a film about it. It is a personal reflection on drive, fear, and the only foundation that does not move when everything else does. This is the last project I made before leaving home to study filmmaking in Nashville, and I cannot wait for you to see it.

vacation with my best friend in the whole world! 🫶

I have always believed it is not where you go, but it is who you are with. This trip gave me both, and I am so blessed. I recently spent 8 days in Italy with someone who means everything to me because of the generosity of her family who made this possible. I am beyond grateful for the memories, the moments, and the footage I will never forget capturing.

More Italy content coming soon... 🇮🇹
