Celebrating 64 years of Independence with a little piece of Trinidad & Tobago through my eyes. 🇹🇹🖤🤍❤️

A few moments from my visit to the Independence exhibition at ASTT, including my own piece and some of the works that caught my eye. So much talent, history, and beauty in one space.

Happy Independence Day, Trinidad and Tobago!

Over a year ago, I joined a group of women who meet every Monday to paint.

Most days, no agenda.
Always, no pressure.

Just artists making work, sharing ideas, encouraging one another and enjoying each other's company.

Some Mondays we paint more than we talk.
Some Mondays it's the other way around.

Either way, I always leave with a fuller creative tank than when I arrived.

This weekend is my first time exhibiting alongside this wonderful group, the Art Rebels, founded by Beverley Fitzwilliam Harries.

If you're looking for something to do this weekend, I'd love for you to come by and see the work. We're exhibiting at the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago in Federation Park.

And if you do, take a moment to look beyond the paintings.
Every one of them carries a little bit of Monday with it.

In support of our colleague @clayts_bart who will soon undergo sensitive Eye Surgery abroad. Several artists have donated their works to put for sale at @artsocietytt (who generously hosted us at their headquarters in Federation Park. ) 100% proceeds from the sale of these paintings will go directly to assist Clayton with his Medical Expenses.

On behalf of the Artists’ Community and friends and family of Clayton de Freitas, we wish him well and hope that the surgery is successful.

Some paintings are still available from this slideshow..
